Great way to start the pre Valentine dinner. Delicious Pinot -so smooth — 5 years ago
I just got all up in this. It was so damn good. Cut white flowers, fresh pear and a cool viscous mouth feel. Eye opening white blend from the master of Amarone donated by an American white blended human @Steve Anderson — 6 years ago

I feel I have found a treasure for which I have been searching for years. My second Chateau Rayas - first a 2000, now a 2006. It is a perfect wine with a delicacy that reminds me of a beautiful burgundy. Perfect balance of fruit and earth, but restrained so that flowers emerge on both the nose and in the mouth. Just magnificent. Should I tell all of you when my birthday is...? — 8 years ago
Very young but lovely fresh apricots, peaches and pineapple. Honeysuckle and white flowers. What really makes this wine amazing though is the body. It's big and round the whole way through where so many Sauternes fall either in the middle or finish. Lovely. — 9 years ago
Showy! Black fruit and baking spices. Great texture and length. — 10 years ago
I understand it to be a unique blend of Syrah and Pinot. — 10 years ago
This 375 ML is drinking beautifully now. Offers up a bouquet of spring herbs and meadow flowers. Red fruit on the palate, but fruit isn't the primary characteristic. There's dusty earth, savory herbs, and fine tannins that are very much like green or black tea. Finishes with a lovely spice note, sweet tobacco and bay leaf. There is, too...lively acidity that will make this classic Bandol an excellent food wine. — 11 years ago
Richness and energy come together so well in the 2017 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru. Time in the glass brings out the wine's curves, but the 2017 is so young, especially when tasted next to some of the older wines in this mini-vertical. Lemon confit, marzipan and white flowers add that extra touch of inner perfume and sweetness that is so compelling in this vintage. The 2017 is such a promising Charlemagne. Our favorite Spring day is when we get plant the yard. Especially, during Covid-19 lockdown. Never more enjoyable.
Flowers by Sofia. Garden is me.
A great weather day and worthwhile doing a cheers with of one of our favorite N/V Rosé Champagne’s.
With the lockdown, I am running dangerously low on Rosé Champange. I might have to Soda Stream some Rosé wine soon.
All my many, many notes still apply.
Cheers all and Happy Easter if you celebrate it. 🍾🥂🍷 🐣 🐰 — 5 years ago
I must say I was a little surprised by our visit to Matthiasson. It’s amazing the amount of wines, varietals and bottling’s they make in a extremely tiny space. As well, the old school wine equipment that produce some very nice to high-end wines. It’s amazing they pull off what they do with facilities so far from the definition of a modern winemaking facility by today’s Napa standards. This says very good things about their staff.
Also, my notes will not be as detailed as I like...our host was speed tasting.
On the nose, lemon, lime, cream, green apple, pineapple, grapefruit, steel/flint and spring flowers.
Full body and a little waxy. Lemon, lime, cream, green apple, pineapple, grapefruit, steel/flint and spring flowers. Nice subtle volcanic minerals and soft chalkiness. Good acidity with a nice finish.
Have most of you picked up on grape shears woven into some of their label artwork?

This is a sample of the 16 Insignia still in barrel.
On the nose, the dark fresh florals exploded. The fruits are very dark currants and well extracted. Blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries and blue fruits hues on the edges of the glass. Sweet tarry presence, loads of baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove & nutmeg. Dark spice, black tea, pipe tobacco, dark rich soil, core of anise and fields of violets.
The body is thick and full. The wine still very fresh. The tannins big, meaty and chewy. The dark fruits are quite floral. Blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries with blue fruits. Sweet tarry presence, loads of baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove & nutmeg. Dark spice, black tea, pipe tobacco, dark rich soil, crushed dry rocks, river stones, tough leather, cedar, core of anise with red flowers and fields of violets. Very good round acidity. The long, big, ruby, lush, well balanced finish is beautiful.
The fruit, tannins and acidity all speak to it being 95+ and a long cellar.

Fresh, lively and juicy with great acid, fine but present tannins and cherry, cranberry, sweet slice and purple flowers with a touch of earth. Yum!!! — 8 years ago
Creamy and mouth filling, pink flowers and strawberry on the nose, whipped cream, candied red apple, wet stone on the palate — 8 years ago
Feels like fahn wyin, looks like dirt, smells like flowers, tastes like dried leaves. — 9 years ago

Popped for our 30th and taken to Sons & Daughters in SF. Straw gold color, still looks youthful. Spectacular nose. Notes of lemon curd, marzipan, wet river stones, white acacia flowers, tan spice and some petrol. Equally amazing in the mouth, this explodes in the glass with great structure and acidity, bounded by ample fruit. In short, this is everything you want in a white burg. Still easily has a decade or more of enjoyment at this peak performance. A top all time bottle for me. — 4 years ago
