$210, yes. Thankfully no signs of pre-mox. Slightly honeyed, reductive / gun flint nose that faded with air to smoke. Lime zest, peach, orange blossom, integrated smoke on palate. Great minerality and acidity, impressively long finish. Likely reaching peak soon. — 6 years ago
Nice little wine, probably the leanest white burgs I’ve had from 15. Acacia, white grapefruit, lemon, lemon pith, wet stones, flint and a hint of nuttiness. Pretty lean and tight on the palate. Finish pulls up a bit short and a touch bitter. Revisit in a year or two — 6 years ago
From mag. Very vigorous nose on flint, lime and puckering acid and zip. Lovely palate, pure puligny. Delicious — 7 years ago
One of my favorite whites of recent. Many parts that all settle in together. Rocky minerality, pronounced acidity, slight funk, flint, damp basement. — 8 years ago
Great wine. Flint, lemon zest and green apple. — 8 years ago
Laser beam to my Chardonnay pleasure center. Such focused orchard fruit, flint and sappiness , with a hint of salinity. Reductive (surprise!) upon opening, much more giving with a couple hours in the decanter. Every time I question the QPR of white Burgundy, Roulot reels me back in. Thanks, @Evan Vallee. I need a winning lotto ticket or something... — 8 years ago
Dense and round. Flint and gun smoke. Lemon. Apple. Cream and toast — 9 years ago
One of my favourite wines. Crisp white. Not too acidic. Enjoy it again and again — 6 years ago
Very intense. Powerful gunpowder, flint, lime. A dazzling and broad midpalate. Really juicy and focused with none of the over-ripeness you sometimes see in 05. Killer. No signs of premox and will probably kick ass in 20 years on this showing. — 7 years ago
A lovely greengage, lime, slate and honeysuckle nose. On the palate very clear, chalky, flint. A lovely savory palate. Incredibly there... Really beautifully balanced. Great stuff. — 8 years ago
exceptional balance -- citrus, flint, subtle oak. couldn't ask for more from a chablis. — 8 years ago
Whoa. Charcoal, brambly dark berries, flint, tobacco, a hint of mint, rich and high toned - huge bass notes that turn into a beautiful crescendo. That's a wake up call. — 8 years ago
Great balance here. Flint, minerality, gooseberry, great acidity and bright citrus fruit. Reminiscent of both Marlborough and Sancerre. — 9 years ago
Flint & Steel adds a crisp flinty backbone to classic Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. A lovely nose of honeysuckle, peach and grapefruit rind is followed by flavors of mango, kiwi, lemongrass & freshly squeezed grapefruit. The wine is medium bodied with a smooth and refreshing finish. — 10 years ago
Pale lemon with developing aromas of green apple, lemon, wet stone, flint, cheese, yogurt, hay, and mushroom. Dry, high acidity, medium body and medium alcohol. Medium intensity flavors of straw, wet stone, hay, lemon and nectarine. Drink now but has potential for further aging. Very good quality. — 5 years ago
Ente never disappoints! Laser-like precision with some flint and lemon-y notes, followed by honey and butter. Not overdone and leaves you wanting for more. — 6 years ago
Baby Coche, lots of flint and impression of smoke. On the palate, full of minerality. I can see why people are buying it up as fast as they can. — 7 years ago
Really nice lime flint wet stone herbs, grass — 7 years ago
As the Victorians would have said, a real stunner. In a great place right now, initial blast of elderflower upon uncorking. Further oxidation brings out the classic flinty notes and lush creaminess of premium Sancerre. Slightly faded golden brocade. Flint, citrus, blossoms on the nose. Vibrant acidity. Just gorgeous work. — 7 years ago
Found another 2009, 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Ovello Cru, a premiere site. Ruby with red Berry fruit, floral and flint aromas. On the palate, cherry, raspberry and ripe strawberry flavors with a touch of earthy floral tastes. Tannins are muted, balanced with acidity, well structured. Drinking great now, should last a few more years but why wait on this beauty? — 8 years ago
Extremely layered but delicate nose lets you know you are in for a treat. There's no kick of gooseberry or cat pee, funk or wool. Instead, a great balance between the signature gun smoke, flint and lit match, layered with extra clean lemon, lime, and grapefruit. Palate is rich and round, full of citrus fruit and a stream of acidity. — 8 years ago
Fairly classic SB nose, nice grapefruit... Great flint action on the finish, solid showing with salmon — 9 years ago
2010--flint tropical fruit I get a little strawberry — 9 years ago
Conrad Green
Lovely and composed. Limpid lime, oyster shells, flint. Rounded and supple. Very focused and in place. Delicious. — 5 years ago
