Excellent. Cerise noir, prune. Prononcé et doux. Pour viande rouge, mais pas de plat epicés. — 10 years ago
It has a bite to it when you first try it out of the bottle. Let it breath and the taste changes. Bitter (has that bite) at first but then becomes sweet. Over-all, happy smiles for me!! Love Navarro-Lopez wines, yummy!!! — 10 years ago
Drinking 2003, probably the hardest white to find in Portugal. Similar to Lopez de Heredia, this white will age well over the next 3-4 decades. — 10 years ago

Like the depth of this Malbec. Nice Balance — 9 years ago
A fascinating mature white in the Lopez de Heredia fashion. Honeyed earthy mushrooms and dried apricots contrast against briny fresh lime in a seemingly ageless wine with no signs of declining soon. A unique expression well worth checking out. — 10 years ago
5th wine of the night., How lucky are we., Carlos Lopez de la Calle is friends with Anthony and showcased his wine e as well during our Edge Hill tasting. Incredible Tempranillo., very aromatic., spicy with great structure and silkiness. We popped & poured., the bottle would have been better if decanted for 4+ hours. Very young and still wound tight. However. Promises to be an incredible vintage! We did notice sone bottle variations. — 10 years ago
La Rioja Alta is but a stone's throw from my other favorite Rioja producer, Lopez de Heredia. The pedigree of the 2005 Reserva Viña Ardanza is evidenced by layered, complex aromatics—leather, terracotta roof tiles, plums and sun-baked figs, Madagascar vanilla bean and a lofty top note of char. In the mouth, it's medium bodied, but no less intense, and varied, with red cherries giving way to black peppercorn and green notes of dill, celeriac and dried rosemary. Perhaps even dark chocolate shavings. — 10 years ago
Starting #riojabuzz early w/ Lopez 1998. OMG!! — 12 years ago
Luscious aroma of red berries and earth with subtle hints of spices. Acidic but clean on the palate with long, memorable finish. A true value Temperanillo. — 13 years ago
This white Rioja wine - Viura and “other varieties” - shows a pale golden tint in the glass. The nose is beautiful. Citrus and tropical fruit abound, with a stony minerality laced into the fruit. On the palate, the acidity is extremely refreshing and the flavors of tangerines and lemons are again presented in mineral fashion. The finish is lengthy and the tropical fruit seems to last the longest. — 8 years ago
Yeah Lopez!! — 9 years ago
Im a Lopez/Rio Alta (w dips into CVNE) guy, so this was unexplored territory into mid/high end Rioja. All seamless, plush mouthfeel, rich rich rich black cherries, w enough acidic undertow to keep it fresh & reaching for next glass. Had after food so would love to taste with-bet its transformed. My home base is still Rio Alta & LopeZ though — 9 years ago
1968 R. Lopez de Heredia Vina Condonia Rioja. Drank for family dinner in Napa. We decanted just before white wine was served. At first drank like a beautiful burgundy- raisiny, sweet, with a smooth finish. Unfortunately, the wine petered out a little quickly. Thankfully, we had the 2001 Casanova di Neri Brunello. — 10 years ago
Hello fellow wine connoisseurs. Tonight I am trying a wonderful old vine Zinfandel from Cucamonga Valley where I had the privilege of visiting over the Christmas Holidays. If your looking for a wine you can drink that isn't as light as a pinot or as heavy as a cab, this zin is awesome!!!!
The cork was perfectly preserved. The color is dark purple but you can see your hand through the wine looking down on the glass. It is not as transparent as a Pinot Noir however. The legs are long and thick at about a 6 second drip. This is surprising. The initial bouquet is very light , reminds me of lavender and honey. EXCELLENT! The initial palate gives hints of grapes and dark berries with an amazing buttery texture. WOW. The finish is a bit sour like green apples and yet dissipates quickly leaving the flavor of buttered toast with blackberry jam. Don't get me wrong, it is very dry. It is in no way sweet. The after taste dissipates completely in five seconds leaving you thirsty for more. I can hardly wait to sip again. You should have at least a case of this wine on hand at all times. Oh yes, it is a 2012! — 10 years ago

Very fruity, cherry flavour, little tannin, easy to drink, medium body. — 11 years ago
Another lovely old school Rioja. Their bodega is right across the street from Lopez Heredia but their wines are actually drinkable! — 11 years ago
