Absolutely fantastic! At nine years old, this is just hitting the full effect of secondary bottle aging. Black cherries, coffee and liquored raspberries are framed by a simmered redux of eastern & baking spices. Almost as long as it is wide… The acidity is almost fully entwined with the tannins for a near seamless tour d’force. This fella is playing in the same sandbox with RdV’s Lost Mountain...it’s that good! 2 bottles remain in the cellar :) — 6 years ago
My daughters cat really doesn’t care what we are drinking. I had an 03 a while back. Was outstanding. Had to try one on my 14s. Doesn’t disappoint and thankfully 5 more are waiting downstairs. Wedding crashers is on. Pork tenderloin is cooking and this fella. Loving my Saturday night!! — 6 years ago
It has been about 5 yrs since opening my first ‘11 vintage. It had been so long that I had even forgotten, but glad I had my notes in Delectable. So, I was pleasantly surprised at the acidity and tannic verve that lept out of the glass. At 7 yrs old, this fella is still young! The downside here is that it lacks the classic Pinot-profile. On the palate, dark fruit in a linear, narrow band provided good cleansing power but not a lot of romantic vibe. Drink remaining bottles thru 2023 — 7 years ago
This fella is striking a nice balance between varietal correctness and terroir. Still young - I will try another bottle in 2-3 years. Black fruits and energetic tannins harmonize for a tenor-powered performance. Solid work in the cellar to make a clean and age worthy beauty. I am confident because this glass got better on days 2 & 3!! — 7 years ago
Look no further fella, you found it. Beautiful aroma of grizzly long cut and cape cod cranberries. Medium bodied, light acidity, and softer than Lebron James in crunch time. Beautiful finish, a la licking your little league baseball mitt. Delectable. — 7 years ago
This fella has evolved into an ultra clean, linear burgundy (warmer) style. Wonderful lemon oil and floral note palate slow dance within the a beautifully balance of acid and mouthfeel. Super clean as a sipper, but with food the gentle oak treatment is revealed. One bottle remains - wish I had more — 7 years ago
Quite impressive! I would label this a “classic” CF in the same way old school Breaux tastes. A little lean & mean, this fella was complete with dark cherry, spice (pepper) and green crunchy veggie notes (yes, Bell pepper). Finish was longer than the body was wide. This was my first LongIsland wine, I am sufficiently interested :) — 6 years ago
Big fella! Very oaky , very much our style — 6 years ago
This fella has lot bottle rest ahead...it took a good bit of air to unpack the present inside. True to Mark Fedor’s skill and style, he hit a right bank bullseye again. Year over year, this rivals KingFamily’s meritage program for CONSISTENCY. Wild bramble and forest underlayer elements combine to OVERACHIEVE. At $22, one of the BEST values on the east coast. Is worth noting that there are no fireworks here, just consistent depth of concentration with very clean and functional tannins. It will be interesting to see how Nate shifts the program - as we already see with the wild meadow Chardonnay — 6 years ago
It’s a big fella. Fruit forward, rich wine. Enjoyable but not subtle! 🍷 — 7 years ago
I was NOT disappointed by this Gold medel winner. 6+ years from the harvest, this fella had integrated the four varietals very nicely. While still full of power, the palate had even and enjoyable flow. No one note sang too loud :) — 8 years ago

Big fella here. Cigar smoke. Ripe dark fruit. Delicious. — 5 years ago
