2011. Sort of a more austere cry Beaujolais: crushed rock and violets, just more rock and less fruit. — 10 years ago

Enjoyed over the course of 4 days and best on Day 4. On Day 1, this was poured into a decanter for two hours before being returned to the bottle. The quality was undoubted but it was just too primary; full of promise though! Day 4? Different story. Notes are descriptive of Day 4. The 2020 pours a deep ruby/slightly purple, with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with significant staining. On the nose, deep, dark brambles, plums, the most remarkable purple flowers you’ve ever smelled in a wine, anise, cocoa and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the structure is significant and even after four days, was unrelenting; medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirmed the notes from the nose. The finish is forever long, rich and tangy. A wine for hearty meals but just as lovely on its own. A wine for the patient as rushing a bottle at this stage is plain foolish. Easily a 30+ year wine. Better after 2025. @Lyle Fass 🙏🏽 — 6 months ago
