Acidic. Long finish. — 10 months ago
Popped in poured; no formal notes. The 2020 Pithos Rosso is, to my palate, a lovely Sicilian alternative to Beaujolais. Delicious, refreshingly fruity and just a touch wild. Sufficient structure to provide enjoyment for the near term, but I would just as well drink now. I really enjoy these wines. — a year ago

Very nice; fruity. We had with baked Brie and baked hummus with feta, olives, and tomato on top - December 2016 — 9 years ago
Light body and very "Pinot Noir" like. Bright red cherry and strawberry flavors. Mild tannins and light oak. Hint of smoke. Refreshing. Chill it a bit below cellar temp. Great story about the winery. A Mt. Etna lava flow just went around them 30 years ago. — 10 years ago
Jammy. Great with a Antipasti. — 12 years ago

This is a very punchy, rich wine, likely a blend of Sangiovese with some bordeaux cépages like Cabernet. Actually works very well with rich food and has enough acidity and balance. Not our prime stuff in style but honestly was really good. — 9 months ago
Very nice, slightly dry but smooth. Great with meatloaf. — 2 years ago
Really good value northern red - solid kick off to the trip — 5 years ago
This is starting to show a bit of age. Fruit is a bit muted. Tannins seem slightly more rustic. Still, very good. Cassis. Excellent with 7x Wagyu Prime Boneless Ribeye Steaks! — 6 years ago
Dry but Really good flavour and body! — 7 years ago
Lush fruit integrated with bretty Ness with aplomb. Spicy finish but not too much thought. — 10 years ago

Very nice as noted previously, it’s got that Nebbiolo weight that floats. — 10 months ago
Nice way going. But good and clear — a year ago
Good! Hefty! Some cinnamon/nutmeg up front upon opening, mellows a bit later. Tasty! — a year ago
Beautiful. Nice bright cherry and dark fruit, balanced tannins. Restrained Nebbiolo, a pleasure to enjoy. — 4 years ago
Volcanic organic wine - aromas of green coffee beans, small red fruits, a little funk. Lots of acidity and freshness. — 5 years ago
Barbera & Bonarda blend from an Emilia Romagno maker. I love this style- gave a good 45+ min decant. Imagine the Bonarda offsets the Barbera fruitiness. Keeps a taut line btw vegetal acidity & that earthy fruitiness. Natural maker of some serious orange wines. 13% alcohol. Didn’t hurt that we drank at sunset, on the Hudson River at home. — 7 years ago

— 8 years ago

Nice acidity, brownish tint, very much like a gamay or pn. This is a food versatile wine; I had it with a pork chop Milanese; would be great with grilled chicken. Vibrant fruit, some pepper and flint. — 7 months ago
