Strong licorice initially, blackberries. Typical of early 2000s. Tannins have smoothed with aging. October 2020. — 5 years ago

Crimson in color with the slightest bit of orange. Opened up over 3-4 hours, still has room to cellar. Rustic nose: herbal notes, bloodorange, cherry, but not overly aerobatic. On the palate, is more viscous than expected, with red fruit. Tannins are there, but acidity is just as prevalent. Much better when pair with pasta. Seems lighter and fresher than Barolo but 15abv would seem a little higher than it drinks. Herbaceous and red fruit with floral nose — 3 years ago
