Almost a 91. But a bit short. Peaches and dried nuts. A little on the viscous side and to be honest with you I really didn't know what to expect. Leaner towards the finish. If I saw this on a discount for $40, I'd buy a couple of bottles. Rearding longevity, I just don't think this one is getting any better in the bottle, so might as well drink it now. — 6 years ago

Another wine that seems to be in “drink now” mode. A touch sulfuric on the nose. Very savory with sea salt, popcorn kernel, and only the faintest note of Meyer lemon. Herbal, sea salt butter, and butterscotch. Unique.

So....Orin Swift Pinot..... Those who pay a ton for this aren't even told where this comes from. "California" pinot at $50+. Definitely not bad. Red cherry liqueur. Youthful. A bit unidimensional. I'd like to see what another year or 2 does to this bottle but not expecting much beyond 9.0. — 7 years ago

Yeah, you guys forced me to try this one, despite the fact that I’m not a Pinot guy, and that I think all Orin swift and/or Dave Phinney wines should be poured down the drain (or at the very least be relabeled ‘wine beverage ‘ because they are mainly made in a laboratory). I guess if I was forced (and I was) to try one in the future again, this is probably the least offensive of the bunch. I still will not be giving it any sort of positive accolade, despite the fact that it is less sugary than its stablemates...imho

Wednesday Wine Committee. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert wine. Blind as usual.

Mint and eucalyptus really spring from the glass with old graham cracker, coca dusted dates and clay. The fruit was red and black and very muddled but not overly ripe. Black cherry finish. I called this old Aussie cab. — 6 years ago
