Max'd out petrol and beeswax. This wine caused an epiphany that my latest expressions and interpretations of Japanese influenced cuisine tastes like umami lifted city smog and combined is a fucking remarkable experience. Deep ruby red. Smells potent with a little fruit and earth, hints of old leather. The taste presents light, yet ripe red fruit, balanced acidity, strong alcohol, a hint of pepper, and moist dark earth. Lightly toasted oak tannins and a hint of dull strawberries sustain the finish. Quite complex! Loved it with our slow-cooked leg of lamb.
