Another gift from a new Kentucky friend: fairly hi-octane mellowed by Port wine barrel aging, shows a darker amber color, mellow woody flavors, some spice, orange peel, vanilla, mocha, roasted chestnuts among other myriad notes. Nice finish - a Bourbon that needs some H2O to cut the ALC to highlight aromatics. — 6 years ago

This 3L met it's (un)timely opening as droplets of wine were found protruding from beyond its wax seal, and thus, to avoid sipping a wine having won its race toward its inevitable decline of becoming vinegar, it had to be opened straight away. Everything happens for a reason. The first wiff packed a powerful punch of a still perfect Rutherford Cabernet by one of the state's oldest wineries. As it opened up, the palate mirrored the visual rim variation of fine, aged Cabernet: smooth as a criminal in a Michael Jackson song, complex, structured with precision with a finish teenage lovers between the sheets would envy. Oh what a night! I concur with Wine Enthusiast's tasting notes that just like me, this Beaulieu Vineyards 2001 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is showing alot of wood. — 8 years ago
This wine. Priced at 29 I couldn't believe it, but turns out it was miss labelled. Dried florals, thyme amongst other herbs, cherry, pepper and just ripe plums. Not only intoxicating on the nose. It entirely seductive in the palate with length only many could envy with a supple but ever present tannin that provides the supporting role. One of a few hanging the mindset of Barossa wine and its all for the greater good. — 9 years ago
The second 88' I've opened and requires a few hours to dust off the very damp and earthy nose. Once that dissipates you're left with a gem the French should envy. Enjoy if you have any but give it time to open... — 9 years ago
Haven’t had one of these in awhile and thought it was time to try again. Nice but not as nice as I remember previous bottles. — 6 years ago
Light, brisk, fresh touches of peach mango and apricot, just sweet enough I loved it! — 7 years ago
Had the Pinot Envy flight at Bountyhunter in town. This was by far the best. — 7 years ago
Side by side with Envy. Both 2013. Had the filet. This wine lasted a little longer than Envy. Both were great price value wines. — 7 years ago

Literally butter, a rival to any Napa Chard but with a European elegance that is the envy of all Californians. — 7 years ago
Lovely #sparklingwine #californiasparklinewine very pure and crisp primary expression of Granny Smith apples. Nothing to envy of a Grand Cru Champagne. Beautiful texture and length. — 8 years ago
Stone Côte is a small block within the Durrell Vineyard that sits in the path of an ancient, uplifted river bank at the base of Sonoma Mountain. Release price is $60. I paid $40 for a case. Thank you professional wine critics for missing this (WS88, WA88-90). Thank you local retailer who assumed it was over the hill and closed it out. I was hoping for a single, but instead hit a home run...
Knockout Sonoma Chardonnay. Caramelized peach, pear, apricot, and melon, with lemon meringue, wet stone, a mix of herbs, and a creaminess that any wine would envy. The finish reverberates with help from a ping of acidity. Just hitting its prime and will provide plenty of enjoyment for years to come. — 8 years ago
