Vanilla, cherry. Depth, smoothness. Delicious. — 13 years ago
Just silly smooth. Almost like a bold Pinot Noir but a little bolder. Finishes clean, slightly sweet at the end. Delicious right out of the bottle. — 10 years ago
Powerful! Standing in a sweaty horse barn in a field of blueberries. Definitely on the earthy side but good acidity, lots of black and blue fruits and hints of black olive and soy sauce. Paired nicely with a very strong Mimolette Vieille cheese. — 11 years ago
Quite good. Doesn't really seem like a barley wine to me beyond the ABV. Intense, syrupy, but nonetheless balanced. Like a triple IPA. It was so good with Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream that I contemplated making a milkshake out of it. — 11 years ago
Delicious oak on the nose translates to a soft, fruity white with a clean finish. First white release from Juan Antonio Ponce, guardian of this neglected region. — 12 years ago

Outstanding! My taste profile, very very well done! — 13 years ago
First sip was great and it just got better. Bold, earthy with notes of wood and fruit. Long, smooth finish. — 11 years ago
From my friends on the West Coast. Guardian Cellars always a great bottle! — 11 years ago
Excellent wine. Hints of violet, vanilla and forest fruits on the nose. The palate offers tobacco and ripe fruits with coffee notes. Great tannins with a nice structure — 11 years ago
Gun Metal continues to be Jerry's strongest showing, out of several quite impressive years at Guardian, across all wines. Outstanding representation of his blending skills! — 12 years ago
