Single vineyard 100% Chardonnay, 2005 vintage — 12 years ago
Tasted blind. Medium gold color. Killer old white burg nose. Notes of lemon creme, white dry soil, some spice, a little honey. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Some fine acidity on the finish causes some pucker. Very interesting overall profile, and my guess is I’ve never had this before which is accurate. I go with a 95 Corton Charlie as a guess. The power and great mouthfeel expanded as this absorbed air over the afternoon. Each sip better than the last. — 5 years ago
Tasted blind. Light tawny and translucent. Old wine nose. Notes of soft delicate red fruit, light rhubarb, some mushroom and some sweet cherries. In the mouth it’s missing impact and energy. Acidity is very light. Past it’s prime, although I wonder if this was open too long as the host said it was singing when opened, but then had 6 hrs in the decanter. Guessed mid 60s red burg. — 6 years ago
Tons of acid and also oxidized slightly. I really love these wines. 👌🏻 — 7 years ago
This Syrah is made in conjunction with Consultant, John Duval of Penfolds fame. John has also been making his Duval private label wines since he departed Penfolds back in Barossa. Gorgeous nose of sweet dark currants, dark moist soils, licorice, smoke, grilled meats, violets and fresh florals. The palate is rich, round, thick, sexy and elegant. Blackberries, liqueured, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, lots blue fruits, smoke, grilled meats, cinnamon, vanilla, rich scorched earth, loamy soils, touch of crushed dry rocks, liquid violets, dark fresh flowers and full, mellow acidity. The structure, length, tension and balance are drop dead gorgeous. The finish is thick, full and flat out mouthwatering and jaw dropping gorgeously sexy. First time tasting a GC Leroy and it was really out there. Pungent, overt, aromatic, intoxicating comes to mind. Blinded and had no idea. KP guessed it to be an 11' DRC. Said that 04' and 11' was all about the lady bug. He didn't think it was a Leroy because he felt it was too modern. — 8 years ago

This may be the single greatest Chardonnay I've had to date. — 10 years ago
1980 vintage. Birthday year! Completely exceeded expectations at 35 years of age, unlike me. — 10 years ago
I love Meursault and I love LeRoy. Wine is nicely balance with a fleshy roundness grounded by slatey earth. Great with grilled scallops soon to come. — 11 years ago
