I have known for years that Paso Robles makes great wine. This is an excellent example of what perfect weather, abundant water and great soils can produce. Deep rich dark fruit and extremely fine silky tannins! @Paul T @Ron R @Jim Trobaugh @Bill Bender @Jacqueline @Eric Shanks @Connor McMahon @Martin G Rivard — 9 years ago
So glad to taste this tonight. Remember the "Claire" story. Great work, Bill — 9 years ago

Vintage 2017 / Man, I am so proud this wine is Dutch. I retasted Apostelhoeve next to Bordeaux blanc and Alsace. And it still stands. Light-footed but with a great backbone. Blend of several grapes. #apostelhoeve — 7 years ago

Went to a tasting and they were featuring Chalk Hill, winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded CH in 1972. Had this ‘16 about a year ago. Rich deep straw color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with gentle vanilla toasty oak. Well balanced on lingering finish ending with oak and mineral notes. Aged well. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago
One of the first few vintages of Bill Sweat's and Donna Morris' Pinot Noir is still drinking quite well. Softened a bit and still has some complexity and is pleasant. — 7 years ago
Recently purchased by Bill Foley of Foley Family Wines, continuing traditions of Fred Furth who founded Chalk Hill in 1972, which encompasses 280 acres of vineyards. A blend of 84% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sauvignon Gris and 6% Sauvignon Musque, the latter 2 adding an interesting dynamic to the wine and distinctive aromas. One of the few SB's to see some oak giving this wine complexity. Peach, herb and earthy tones, well balanced with acidity, smooth yet robust on a lingering finish ending with citrus notes. — 9 years ago
Wow that's freaking good! Dark fruit with a lush mouthfeel. Great long finish. I always chuckle when people say 11 was a bad year. Bill & Alicia have a great recipe even in a subpar growing year. Always exciting to uncork one of these bad boys!! 🍷😍🍷😍 — 9 years ago

Great bottle from @Bill Makens , and still just a baby! Even after close to an hour of being open, this was still large and tannic. The aromatics here were just gorgeous...spiced red and black fruit, a streak of sweet blue fruit down the middle. Graphite, herbs and stiff tannins on the palate. — 6 years ago
