Dried cherries, Italian style. — 8 years ago
So...I had a birthday a couple weeks back and due to scheduling, my regular bottle finishing team wasn't available until now, so we're finally doing it up in my grand, unique style.
Notes possibly tomorrow, scores honestly tonight.
Decanted 6H.
24-Hour Update:
Nose has cedar, over-ripe cherry, crushed red currant, crisp red pepper slice, old leather, blackberry jam, over-ripe cranberry, black pepper and dry garden soil.
Palate has strawberry jam, tart cherry, dried cherry, orange zest, blackberry fruit gummy, dried tangerine, volcanic rocks and warm molasses cookie.
In a fine spot, anyone holding this in proper storage could probably expect this to live to a 10th birthday. — 4 years ago

A flavorful Pinot with a nice body. — 7 years ago
Rustic and fast-forward, while dry and tasy. You can't do much better for $6. Thanks Lidl! — 7 years ago
Really enjoy the Cab! Really pretty wine, very easy to drink, bright fruit, mild tannins. — 8 years ago
By far the best US wine I have ever enjoyed. Maybe due to my passion for blend d reds.i feel blending reds in the Bordeaux fashion enriches the shortcomings of single vine products. Moderate body, multiple aromas from earth, slight oak, slight berry almost like a cross of left and right bank Bordeaux. If you find this wine and do not want to try me please notify me, I want it! :) — 9 years ago

Lots of fun bottles were popped at Al’s hosting this past weekend for his birthday celebration. All were served blind. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 6 reds and 1 dessert wine.
En mag. Probably the most difficult wine of the night to identify. Hardly anyone even got close to calling this cab. I was leaning Grenache or ripe vintage burgundy as I thought I was detecting a bit of whole cluster usage due to the lifted profile and stemmy/spice red fruit notes. Yet by the end of the night, the structure beefed up and the spice turned more sweet. Lovely cherry liqueur, sandalwood, baking spices and baked red fruited pie notes. — 6 years ago
This wine is made from the grape of Beaujolais, Gamay, but grown on Michigan’s Old Mission Peninsula. It has a medium ruby hue and smells of the earth. Coffee and tea notes dance across dark fruit on the nose and palate. Acidity is quite fresh and the finish lasts a good while. Just another fine bottle from a state that really needs to get more recognition for its wines. — 7 years ago
Full but not too much, enjoying with chicken — 8 years ago
When you have to travel on a Sunday, and that Sunday happens to be Mother's Day, you're not exactly psyched. This little oasis in the Delta Sky Club afforded me the opportunity to smile. Not a bad pour, regardless of the price. Typical Lynch-Bages cigar tobacco and leather with some luscious and velvety black fruit. Finished a little flat, most likely due to being open for a while in the fancy automated pour gizmo. But still smiling! — 9 years ago

"Primitivo, a cousin of California’s fruit-packed Zinfandel, is the godfather of southern Italian grapes. It’s dark, rich and persuasively charming" — 4 years ago
