Cherry, raspberry, cola, mossy earth, blackberry and currant. Medium-bodied and moderate tannins. — a year ago
Herbs, floral notes, and stone fruit fill the nose. The pallet is also really nice with all on the nose plus some green apple and lemon notes more complex than I was expecting. This is definitely the perfect wine for a variety of foods. Lovely wine — a year ago

The 2022 Frappato Vittoria Bell'Assai wafts up with purity, displaying an array of violets, lavender, crushed blackberries and a complicating whiff of dusty earth. Round and juicy in style, it possesses cooling acidity and crisp wild berry fruits that cascade throughout. The 2022 finishes wickedly fresh and with medium length, leaving a pleasantly crunchy, mouthwatering sensation behind on the close. The Bell'Assai would make an excellent pairing for a wide variety of cuisine. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024)

With a pretty, pale pink color and sweetly scented nose, the 2021 Rosa Dolce & Gabbana makes a lovely first impression. Ripe melon, Asian pear, mint and nuances of white smoke create an inviting bouquet. It’s round and elegant in feel, engulfing the palate in mineral-tinged orchard fruits and hints of chamomile. A salty flourish emerges through the finale, as notes of sour citrus and inner wet stone slowly fade. This is a total pleasure to taste. The Rosa Dolce & Gabbana is a blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nocera. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2022) — 3 years ago

Nicholas picked this up in Sicily while he was there at the NEX. Probably paid about $50 for the bottle there. Would run about $90 in the United States. Excellent red wine from Sicily! — 7 months ago
Lecker im Geschmack, nicht zu sauer und fühlt sich angenehm im Mund an. — 10 months ago
A captivating display of blackberry, plum, grilled herbs, cedar dust and balsamic spice wafts up from the 2016 Mille e una Notte. It’s silky in texture and polished in feel, offering ripe black fruits lifted by cooling minerality. This remains tightly wound up in its youthful state, as a fine coating of sweet tannin settles in to create a structured finale, with pretty purple-tinged florals and hints of licorice lingering long. The 2016 may be one of the most refined expressions of Mille e Una Notte that I’ve ever tasted, but it will need some time to show its best. This is composed primarily of Nero D'Avola, Petit Verdot and Syrah, which is expertly refined in new barriques for 14 months. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2021)

Decanted this, took a sip, and immediately put it back in the bottle. Way too tight. After a day, it was ready to go. A fuller bodied Etna, more balsamic/woody. Delicious but not as singular as the Russo bottles. — 5 months ago
