Aromas of bubble gum and violets. Very fresh with lots of acidity. A summery Vosne-Romanée in a side by side comparison with the 2015 Mugneret-Gibourg village. — 8 years ago
Ever had a wine and said to yourself "this will be perfect in a couple of years". Well, I'm currently hunting down a few bottles of this one to lose in my cellar for a while. Sweet black cherry and under ripe plum, pomegranate seed and cranberry ride on top of fine sharp tannin that reminds me of Italy. Looking forward to seeing you again. — 8 years ago
Surprisingly fairly elegant for Clos de Vougeot. Not in the same league of intensity and complexity as Mugneret-Gibourg or Engel renditions, although less masculine than other Producers. I am guessing plot is below mid slope. — 10 years ago
Beautiful violet and rose petal aromatics. Multiple layers of floral notes and red fruits gliding in and out. Once again, touch of iron that made think that the village was from Gevrey, but could only think of two producers who make such elegant GC: Fourrier and Mugneret Gibourg. The floral quality and lack of candy notes left me with the former. Guessed Fourrier GC VV 2014 due to the relatively short finish (fooled by the vintage) but sappy tannins. — 7 years ago
Great comparison of 2 GC, both '93, not a vintage that would be regarded as spectacular, the Mongeard-Mugneret was all showy and expressive when opened, the Mugneret-Gibourg needed a little more time to come around, but at a pinch I think the M-M was the hit. — 9 years ago

1976 - this is a monster wine. Dark inky color w/ some secondary funk on the nose. Would have liked it a touch sweeter but still very nice with no real dryness that we see from many of the 76’s - very nice wine! — 7 years ago
