1996 vintage. At Ryozanpaku in Kyoto, Japan. Medium garnet - slight bricking around the edge. Medium intensity of aromas, manure, earth, blackberry, violet creams and savoury spices. Fairly complex if slightly mature. On the palate, good fresh acidity, medium body and noticeable rounded tannins. The mid palate is flavoursome and impressive. The finish is slightly short. Probably won't benefit from further ageing. However, I suggest giving the wine 30 minutes of air before serving. — 7 years ago

Amiot burgundies are elegant and this one fits the bill. Drink cool. Cherry notes - bitter in a good way tannic, earl grey tea, chalky? Great stance oak well managed drinks like a premier cru. Much better then the 2011 I just checked my notes. If you have this one in your cellar consider yourself lucky but drink it now it is delicious. 🍷. — 8 years ago

Good acid to challenge my elk tartar. Could use a little more body, but very nice for my pallet. — 10 years ago
