Light bodied, soft tannins, interesting mix of strawberry, raspberry and good amounts of spice and pepper. Nice wine. — 5 years ago

Enjoyed this bottle over the last two evenings. Fruity and light on the pallet, another gem from France — 6 years ago
CVed 9/15/17 comp Ormes '00. Nice Ruby color and balanced fruits darker red and hint of mint on nose. Medium body with balanced tannins and fruits and long finish. Well made wine and great value at $22. Certainly more complexity than you'd expect for the money. Will see how it evolves over the decade. Will be quite a wait! Nice complex bouquet hung on in empty glass for hours. — 8 years ago
The better steak wine over the 2009 Ormes de Pez but, not the more beautiful, elegant wine.
The 2010 Rioja marries the Wagyu Ribcap while showing its Ranchero characteristics.
The palate shows tumble-weed, tannin fruits that are; brambly, ripe, slightly candied; blackberriesblack raspberries, dry, dark cherries with skin, ruby, black plums, very w/ ripe strawberries. Tumbleweed, straw, dark spice, tough leather, clove, sage, dry clay & top soil, crushed rocks, black pepper, dark, berry cola, mint, oak barrel powder, used charcoal with candied florals that are fresh & withering; dark, red, purple & blue. The acidity is top flight. The long finish is well balanced fruit & earth, persisting nicely falling onto earth & dark spices.

Decanted, notes from 1 hr open. On the nose: soft cocoa, game, wild strawberry, soft baking spice...very Morey. On the palate: lovely acidity, cocoa, sweet plum, excellent density. Juiciness builds, and turns into white pepper, sweet strawberry, and then very finely grained tannin on the gripping finish. — 4 years ago
