On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with leather, licorice and smoky herb notes. Fine tannins, hints of oak on medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and earthy mineral tones. This is really rich voluptuous stuff. It’s low dosage but it’s not minerals on steroids. There is beautiful pear with light ginger here. Very balanced. Perfect for an appertif but would play well with lots of foods. He’s a terroir guy and it shows. — 8 years ago
