Round two, decantered showed almost a different wine. Reserve style yet no definitive oak character. Sweet corn, fresh pineapple. Driving and fresh acidity, focus and concentration are not lacking and the flavour profile goes from fruit salad to bamboo shoot, from celery to cut herbs in the space of seconds. — 10 years ago
Definitive dried herbs, black cherry and black olives on the nose. Silky tannins and a spicy finish. — 10 years ago
Cherry notes with some dust and spice. Medium bodied at best yet ripe fruit with traces of spice on palate. Marg River Shiraz from the north does not have a definitive identity. Shiraz seems to do better in the south ie Voyager, Cape Mentelle and Leeuwin Estate. — 10 years ago
On my Yum/Yuck highly scientific rating scale a definitive Yum-o-lish!

Fantastic wine. Definitive California flavours wrapped in a Pinot Gris. Tasted by chance at a fundraiser when they were closing up shop. — 11 years ago
Sunday night R&D. 2012 vintage. Pours a brilliant ruby red. Exhibits a certain wildness that I like. Definitive berry fruit, herbs and leather. Soft and velvety on the palate. — 11 years ago
Let this sit for a couple hours. Dried straw and raspberries, wet Autumn leaves -- great balance. One of the definitive FLX pinots produced so far. Really expresses the region. Will really be something in another 6-8 years. — 11 years ago
For me, this is the definitive Weiss beer - outstanding — 12 years ago
2009. Plum, dried meat, and very vibrant. Not definitive N Rhone notes, but seductive. Nice start to the year.) — 12 years ago
Considering the vintage on this, the wine was outstanding. Dry fruit, some spice, long finish. Excellent old world wine, very definitive. Had this with pizza, spiced chicken dip, chicken wings and other super bowl munchies. What a wine. I'd definitely buy this again. — 9 years ago
Still such a beautiful and amazing wine, this is the best iteration of a Hirsch Pinot Noir that exists (imo), plenty of youthful fruit, but a sauce and finely textured wine that might be peaking but is nowhere near the finish line. I'd go back and buy more in a heartbeat.
To me Lioco as a producer is definitive of what the best Burgundian varietals can do in California, not to mention some of the other grapes they work with. — 10 years ago
Superb Malbec! Cranberry and boysenberry on the nose. The palate is interesting as it is a melange of black and red fruits - think blackberry and cranberry compote. A definitive note of allspice as well. — 10 years ago
2nd wine at Blossom - pure, beautiful Merlot. Definitive spiciness, with blackberries and black currants. Smooth tannins. — 11 years ago
Definitive example and quite tasty. — 11 years ago
Incredibly vibrant, juicy and alive fruit - Sun-kissed strawberry, blueberry, black raspberries. Definitive slate minerality and warm earthiness. Finishes with a lovely mellow eucalyptus note. — 11 years ago
Bomb! Definitive of the region. Big personality like the man who grew the grapes. — 12 years ago
Lots of minerality. Very nice to drink; unfortunately after some reds, so it's hard to be definitive. — 12 years ago
A very enjoyable sweet red wine. Definitive chocolate overtones. More of a dessert wine really. — 13 years ago
Yes! An absolutely glorious assault on the nose, creating that definitive glue-sniffing high, like they cut the wine with toluene. Another ten years needed here to touch the sky. TA Cornas is for sure one of the best values for Syrah on the planet. — 9 years ago

Welcome to the weekend and we are going to Germany to get it started. Opening the 2012 Monchhof Robert Eymael Urzig Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese.
Upon opening the aromas are very pronounced and ripe with heavy notes of rubber tires, nectarine, apple, Pear, honeysuckle and a little pineapple.
With the first sip the nose is confirmed giving us rubber, petrol, nectarine, apricots, peach, apple, pineapple and honey.
The wine has medium + acidity with a full thick mouthfeel almost to the point of being syrupy. There is a definitive sweetness but not to the point of being overpowering. This is a well balanced riesling and enjoyable.
Please have an enjoyable weekend and be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🖒 — 10 years ago
Not entirely sure about this, in particular I was struck by the carbonic notes on the palate which were would have screwed me in a blind tasting. That said its clearly too young for definitive judgment - hold and keep your fingers crossed. — 10 years ago
My favorite vineyard and it smells like the vineyard. This is a definitive #oakville cab — 11 years ago
Definitive #Mercurey — 11 years ago
Definitive and focused. Yes. Yum. — 11 years ago
Definitive Nascetta. Opened yesterday and continues delivering tell-tale herbal aromatics (rosemary) and petrol. Noble. Extraordinary character. More like how a Riesling ages. Or Timorasso. Beautiful depth. #theotherpiemonte #Italianwhite — 11 years ago
Give some time to open up, candied orange peel along with a medicinal soundscape of twisted aromas. Cloudy and a definitive length that gives a good structure all the way through.
Had it along with a groundbreaking Risotto Carnaroli alla Parmigiana with white Alba truffle a.k.a The Great White. — 12 years ago
Delicious fruit forward wine — 12 years ago

Only 250 cases of this rare beast bottles were made and this is the first I've ever tasted; it will not be my last. The 2007 has a long life ahead of it but I do believe collectors will enjoy it at this moment; the reputation dictates a decade before opening and I gave it that +2 hours in a decanter and I'm very happy to have discovered this now...I will be looking for more. Some wines from the Napa Valley try to be too pretty and this wine is a monster that has been kissed by time and evolved into a very distinguished representative. The tannins are now approachable but there is a very unique and definitive structure here. a great wine to collect and a relative value inside of collectible Napa Valley Cabernet. This was my favorite of three fantastic cult cabs tasted blind at Gwen restaurant "best bottle" dinner hosted by wine LA on 2.8.17 — 9 years ago
