The nose opens seamlessly with ripe plum, blueberry compote, and cassis before evolving into savory waves of smoked meat, dark cocoa, dried violet, and aged soy. The palate is full and silky, with a refined sweetness and integrated spice driving a long, savory finish. Still powerful but now balanced and restrained. In peak form. — 9 months ago

This is LV14. No dosage. A year and a half since my last btl, roughly. On the nose: melon, with creme fraiche, basil, meyer lemon, meyer lemon zest. Not sure I would believe BdB blind. Color suggests skin contact...almost soft peach. On the palate: aggressive mousse at first...maybe needed a decant. Lovely acidity, lime, bitter citrus, a touch short, and very juicy on the dense and tangy finish. A stunner. — 5 years ago

A fresh, mineral-driven nose with notes of wild flowers and touches of citrus and pear. The palate is very dry with ripe, full acidity. Lush, round flavors of crunchy pear and lemon zest lead to deep stony notes. The wine finishes a touch fruity and juicy with long, ripe acidity and a touch of earthiness. The 2014 Sonoma County Pinot Noir had bright ruby and complex red berry fruit aromas with sweet earthy spice. The palate shows cherry, tart raspberry and strawberry flavors with citrus notes, pepper and nuttiness. The finish develops some toasty oak notes, minerality with firm tannins, well balanced coming together. Consistent quality year after year!
