Total grapefruit, fruity on the nose, hints of mineral. Great for sitting on the balcony on a sunny day — 11 years ago
Importantly, the food is SoundSide magic..:) This wine is earthy on the nose (dirty enough to seduce) elegantly showing rich dark cherry on first blush that gradually coats one's mouth with a mix of dark fruit then finishes with a velvety downstream drift. An 06 that will likely get better yet..:) — 11 years ago
Stronger bourbon!!! But so flavoury — 12 years ago
Airplane glue and spice on the nose. A bit warm, with spicy flavors and dates, caramel and brown sugar all showing on the palate. — 9 years ago

Really big. Mouthful of apricots and peaches. Ridiculously cheap at R45 a bottle. Will try and buy as many as possible. — 11 years ago

Very smooth with subtle berry flavours — 12 years ago
Stone, fruits and tree nuts, till tints if persimmon both on the back palette, and in the lingering medium Oaked finish. Totally worth the price for the fantastic curious flavored that will drift in and out of the tastebuds/olfactory harbor. Huh, can't type right now, going back in! — 10 years ago
Wonderful wine. Watching the balloons drift by in the Dordogne Valley while drinking it. Light yeast and great fruit. Gaston Chiquet 2005. — 10 years ago

@David A Lentine @Christine @Gina Sabean @Robert Takahashi If the nose could have won Wine of The Night then Kenzo would have won. It was soft and seductive, enticing you to relish in its beauty. For as much as we re-visited the Morlet which truly set the benchmark we found ourselves revisiting the Kenzo to compare the nose. Truly beautiful for such a young wine. Unfortunately, youth has its benefits and drawbacks. It was just a 1/10th of a step behind the Morlet due to its youth. Not quite as broad or with as long of a finish. However, we stopped splitting hairs & are now splitting Atoms at this point if you catch my drift. What an absolute Beaty this was this evening!! Simply stunning!
BUT Alas., it was a tasting and a vote must be rendered. 2nd it was but by the smallest of margins. Give this baby a few years to grow into its own and get ready to see a star shine! Bravo!!! And thank you so very much for my birthday gift this year Bob!! IOU one! — 9 years ago
