Nicely made and exuding character. Nose has bright, deep plummy fruit, along with nice, fragrant spice and a wisp of smoke. Mouthfilling, pure fruit on the palate, with a light touch, finish turns savory and shows lots of stony minerality. Nice acids and a bit of soft, chalky tannin comes out at the end. Made in a weighty, ripe style, offering bitter cherry, cassis and fruitcake flavors that are energized by a late jolt of spiciness.
