Light and fun. Local too — 7 years ago
Lightly sweet white blend with notes of stone fruit, pear, and a slight citrus-acidic undertones. Excellent summer wine. — 8 years ago
Picked this up off the shelf at Crush a few hours before dinner. Might of been the best bottle I have had yet. Wow. Amazing concentration, graphite, tobacco, and dark fruit. Great stuff @Jason Chang @Martin G Rivard wish you guys were here. Add this to the list of must have in the cellar. — 9 years ago
One of my favs I love all of Dave Matthews wine — 10 years ago
The fruits are so consistent and fresh...even 15 years later. Raspberries, cherries, strawberries, pomegranate, watermelon, red vines, chalk, dusty crush rocks, nice acidity and balance. There are those that think WS wines don't hold up 10 years plus. My experience tells me very differently. Williams Selyem is still an under valved producer and part of me is the happier for it. Love the lower alcohol vs. today's production. The 01 still has a little time left. — 10 years ago
Not quite as sensational as our bottle in February due to storage differences. Cooked fruit of; rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries, dusty crush stones, leather, dark vanilla barrel toast, black earth and pebbles, black tea, hint of mushroom. Finishes soft and elegant with just a touch of funk. Hope you all enjoyed Christmas!!! — 10 years ago
#1000th Review# One of my all time favorite, this can easily crush many Amarone. Very young, no signs of tertiary notes at all. Sweet and warm spices, raisin, sweet cherries, mocha, dark chocolate and bright acidity. Best on day 2, very smooth texture. 15% abv and it’s well balanced. Wish I have more in the cellar! — 6 years ago
Pleasantly surprised how yummy this was! Quite jammy, low tannins, more like blueberries than red berries. — 7 years ago
The Backus Vineyard is on a steep hillside in the low end of the Vaca mountains...across from Rudd Vineyards and Screaming Eagle. It's a blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot & 1% Malbec. Tonight, it's showing elegant evolution. The tannins are about at the halfway point in their evolution. It has a slightly jammy character. The fruits are; ripe to dry blackberries, spiced plum, dark cherries, touch of blueberries, black raspberries & raspberries come on late, coffee grounds, spice-box, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, mocha chocolate, a nice woody barrel toast comes through mid palate, black licorice anise, dry stems, black tea, dry florals & fresh violets, dry hay, rich semi-sweet black earth, dry crush brown volcanic rocks and the acidity is perfect. The wine is in a good place tonight with a 3 hour decant. The structure, balance, length and finish are outstanding. The finish goes on and on. It's; ruby, lush, thick, round, elegant with just the right amount of spice and earth. The first bottle in a set of three. I would have the next bottle in 5-8 years. Guessing, the last bottle in another 3-7 years depending on the showing of the second bottle. Sweet dark cassis nectar. — 9 years ago
Very smooth. Not too sweet, at all, with hints of vanilla bean and a subtle spice. Would love to keep on hand! — 9 years ago
Bring on rosé season. Delicious strawberries and cream. 👊🏻 — 10 years ago

Tall grass. Nice spice but smooth. Not too sweet. Medium body. Easy to drink. Would buy again. — 6 years ago
If there is better rosé from Sonoma County, I haven’t had it! — 7 years ago
Much better than the Apothic Dark and Apothic Crush. My favorite Apothic, frankly. — 9 years ago

Funk and more funk. I love it. — 10 years ago
This is terrific. Very fruity, easy to drink on its own. Had this in Hudson on Christmas 2015 before dinner. Jen and I both really liked it. We agree that it won't go with as wide a range of food as, say, the Clos du Bois Cabernet, but it's great before dinner, or with chocolate, and especially in the summer. — 10 years ago

Excellent blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Tempranillo instead of Syrah. Works very well. I saw this described as “dusty fruits” which I take to mean earthy, and just slightly subdued. Relatively smooth and opens up nicely with air time. Will keep the other bottles for a while to see how the evolve. Another good effort from ONX wines out of Pasa Robles. Cheers — 6 years ago
