Treasure Chest

2015 release, pink label, Treasure chest, profits for Brest cancer, One the most tropical IPA's I ever had, prickly pear, Hibiscus, grapefruit, very little malt backbone to balance the hops, but that is a good thing, low AVB, very smooth, refreshing and tasty, nice floral hops, mosaic hops, I really liked it, I love Hibiscus, those who do not, maybe will not like this beer as much as I do, Great Beer, Great cause — 10 years ago

Double Stout Black Ale

Produced a full head of cappuccino brown, that left a plethora of primitive dinosaur hieroglyphs. Completely opaque and dark as strong coffee. Turkish coffee impression similarly informs the aromas, with a raspberry-dark chocolate streak, a tiny dust of licorice, and some burnt caramel. Mouthfeel is stout perfection, bordering on whole milk with chocolate syrup. Espresso, gingerbread, burnt wheat, bitter, baker’s chocolate, allspice, dried cassis, wormwood, and burnt lavender. #doublestout #stout #beer #beerbeerbeer #greenflash #abv #stoutout #beeroclock #beerculture #beerdrinkers #stoutitallout #? — 8 years ago

9.0

Way young for this, but that doesn't make it less enjoyable, just less fully developed and complex as it will be down the road. Density and concentration without super maturity and jamminess. — 9 years ago

Pagani Ranch Heritage Sonoma Valley Red Blend 2015

Do yourself a favor and follow Esther Mobley on Twitter. She’s the Wine, Beer & Spirits writer for the San Francisco Chronicle and her reporting on the wine country fires is extraordinary... “1880s vines at Old Hill Ranch in Sonoma Valley. Gone” (photo credit to her also).
I had to open the 2015 Bedrock Pagani Ranch Heritage from Morgan Twain-Peterson MW (pictured right) which is also from 1880s vines and just a few miles north of the Old Hill Ranch along Sonoma Highway. It had me immediately saying prayers that the Pagani Ranch would be spared — it’s stunningly pure and absolutely glorious... think choirs of angels. As if a top Châteauneuf-du-Pape producer, like Janasse or Clos Saint Jean, traded their 100+ year old Grenache for 100+ year old Zinfandel. Giant, but radiant red fruit that has a kirsch and violet edge to it. Add in some dense blackberry to a base of rich minerality and this soars into a cloud of herbs and spices including Herbes de Provence, adding baking spice, licorice, and wildflowers along the way, with some secondary cured meat and cracked pepper which gives this the depth and complexity it deserves. Beautiful.

10th Anniversary India Pale Ale

10th Anniversary IPA Re-release for the 20th Anniversary Encore Series, big big west coast hops, pine, citrus, peach, orange peel, sweet malt, 10% AVB, Triple IPA, not technically a style, especially back then, adds the new hops now common, Summit and chinook hops, Outstanding back then, and still very impressive, the closest beer to compare with this is Avery's Maharaja, which is still Outstanding as well — 10 years ago

Hand Shake IPA

Very solid IPA, this celebrates the one year anniversary partnership between Green Flash and Alpine, of course if you still want Alpine beer, you will have to go to their brewery, good news is, this lends more to the Alpine style of IPA's then Green Flash, using the proprietary Alpine yeast strain, a very good start, hope they continue to be as good and better in future brews, big hop profile, Mosaic, Citra, Simco and El Dorado hops, 7% ABV, 55 IBU's feels and taste bigger, big wow factor for me, only paid $1.99 for this bomber — 10 years ago
