Great from the first taste — 4 years ago
Upon recommendation from the wine ship guy, i opened this 2-3 hours before tasting, which was good, except for tge fact that it got too warm. I popped it back in the fridge for 20 minutes and then it was perfect. Very fruit forward and fresh with a nice structure despite its youth (2017 tasted in August 2019). All the guests loved it. — 5 years ago

For someone who normally can't get behind Carignan- I am so fucken far behind this Carignan. — 8 years ago
Didn't really show up to play tonight. Perhaps some air will improve. Very closed and one dimensional. Off bottle? Day 2 & 3: Ok here we go. Compote, leather, earth, garrigue, violet, sweet spices, forest, animal. Needs time. Maintains a certain richness while expressing a sense of elegance. — 8 years ago
Almost overwhelming stony minerality in the nose, along with black olive and mesquite smoke(?). Only a vague whiff of black cherry under all that. Intense flavors attack the palate. Dark minerals, beef blood, dark blackberry skins, roasted herbs. Full body. Long long finish. Still significant tannin, but it's soft. This will last at least 2-3 more years. Really good. — 8 years ago
Really quite nice once you gave it some air. A bit stiff on its own but great with the robust flavors of the the Pinot Noir short ribs we had. — 4 years ago

I tend towards dichotomous labeling. I struggle: How can something be both light and dense? For the new year I’m going to focus on letting things be their complicated selves... so when you ask me: What’s good fam? I might say: a multiplicity! 1 <3 — 6 years ago
Raspberries and other assorted red fruit, finishes with tarragon. Beautifully bright. A good pair with our cassoulet. — 7 years ago
