Delightful light, earthy — 9 years ago
Serious fruit flavors and ample tannins. Still really young. Give a good hard hour long decant or better yet lay it down for 5 years. — 10 years ago
Amazing how well this has held up. 10 years in my cellar and it is so similar to the wine I tasted back then. It definitely leans a bit towards the new world in ripeness and richness but still has plenty of balance and varietal character. Wild cherry, black plum, red licorice, with lots of sweet spice, brown sugar, and a slightly medicinal undercurrent on the long finish. — 6 years ago
Smooth, easy drinking. Love the little bit of bite on the end — 6 years ago
Bouquet of soft dark fruit and blackberries. Initial soft spice tang then a soft dark berry middle then a medium dry finish. Juicy and jammy Medium dirt tannic finish — 7 years ago
Light straw, pear, apricot and a hint of wet slate material. Crisp and delightful! — 9 years ago
The last bottle we have of this vintage. It has been delicious, and we look forward to the next vintage. — 6 years ago

Yep, it’s wine club time at Cooper Ridge, and I have this great merlot because of that! Delightful! — 8 years ago

Bob McDonald

My first Joshua Cooper wine - had to check out the Young Winemaker of the year for 2020 awarded by Gourmet Wine Traveller magazine. Joshua has recently turned 32. This wine was quite rich and dense and a little closed aromatically - obviously quite young. Ripe plum, rose petals, with a little vegetal matter. - a big future ahead. Joshua has had wide experience with Australian wineries and in Burgundy with Domaine de la Vougeraie and Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron. This wine from the cool climate Macedon Ranges with high profile neighbours like Bindi and Curly Flat. — 5 years ago
