One of my favourite hidden gem BdB champagnes that I loved in 90 & 96 so excited to try the 02 @ £140 that was a generous gift 😍 Tied with string to hold the cork 👍

Quintessential northern Rhône Syrah. Musty nose, subtle herbs. The palate has dried cherry, cooking herbs, distinct white pepper, silky tannin. Quite structured and subtle but tannin and acidity to last. — 6 years ago
Not a huge white wine drinker. This hit the spot after an afternoon of cooking. Refreshing! Nice balance of mineral and fruit. The citrus tones are exquisite. — 7 years ago
I agree with the other comment about this being a good wine to sip on while cooking. I'm waiting for take out. It's good for that too. — 8 years ago
Finally able to lock down reservations at Magdalena's. They have a unique set up in that they have a set menu that changes every week, and you are notified the week before if there are spots available...they sell out within 5mins! We were lucky to get on the list for their most recent "Supper Club" as they call it.
Based on the menu, we figured 1 white and 1 red was appropriate. After enjoying my favorite Sauv Blanc (the Addax SB), my buddy Luke (who is a big Pinot fan) brought this to expand our knowledge on pinots and see what Oregon has cooking. At pop and pour, this was delicious. Lots of cherries, leather and dates on the nose. The taste was very different than the aromatics. More leather, Bing cherry, cedar and a touch of rhubarb. A very "dusty" Pinot. — 8 years ago
Pair this classically perfect 14-year-old Rioja with cheese and crackers that you share with your beautiful wife, ideally in a hotel room after you’ve been evacuated from your home for a week due to fires caused by lightning storms. Your appreciation will be elevated if you precede your wine with a few days of cooking paella for hundreds of evacuees and firefighters. If this is not a possibility, I suggest pairing your Tondonia with grilled lamb, which will play well with the wine’s tobacco, leather and cranberry notes. — 5 years ago
Bought this because I needed a wine that could be used for cooking chicken but would taste good as a drink too. Succeeded on every level. — 6 years ago

Ripe red fruits and sweet spice on the nose; medium to full body, high acidity, med+ tannins, flavours of red + black fruit, stone minerality, cooking spice and meaty notes; lovely red fruit on finish — 8 years ago
Love merlot at the moment! Nice and fruity, well balanced, woody. — 8 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Ruby with aromas of berry fruits and cooking spices. On the palate flavors of cherry and tart raspberry with cinnamon and fragrant spice. Fine tannins with good acidity balance, medium finish ending with earthy notes. — 4 years ago
