Holy fucking delicious — 6 years ago
Quite consistent with my notes from ~6 months ago:
Nose has over-ripe apricot, almond oil, marzipan, meringue cookie and cold butter.
Palate has warmed apricot pie with extra flakey, buttery crust, sweet sand, white flower honey and mango.
Admittedly I love Sauternes and have many bottles, yet it's a rarity on opening and posting to the Community. We paired this bottle with a hard, smoked goat cheese from a local, Hudson valley producer, a solid match of sweet and salty. — 6 years ago
Softened tannins, dark fruit, blueberry, — 7 years ago
Amazing aromas of tropical fruits like guava, passion fruit, and pineapple. Tastes of fresh pineapple juice with water. Balanced acidity and sweetness. Medium finish. — 8 years ago

Golrious balance. Cork was compressed and showing age, though I stored this in my cold cellar. Nose of yellow fruits and flowers. All of a piece, though feeling a bit spendy.
Happy Mother's day to my wife, paired w almond croissants and truffled eggs. — 6 years ago
A full-body Pinot! Deep Ruby with berry aromas, floral and garden spice. On the palate ripe strawberry and dried cherry fruit with vanilla spice and cedar notes. The wine is well structured, silky smooth tannins, balanced acidity carry the wine to a lingering spicy finish. Very Nice! — 6 years ago
Soft pear, green melon with lovely balance - this Sancerre is best served cool but not as cold as New World SBs — 7 years ago
Fruity light, almost like a sparkling water. Low alcohol content — 8 years ago
Very light melon water, umami and very well balanced acidity through out the body compare to other Junmai Daiginjo which looses acidic balance.
Dassai "50" Junmai Daiginjo stands for remaining 50% polished "Yamada Nishiki" & "Omachi" rice.
It is Asahi shuzo's entry level sake.(they uses same name as Kubota sake's Asahi shuzo but it is different Brewery!!)
Great sake from Yamaguchi prefecture, Japan. — 9 years ago
Nose has beautiful saline mousse of lemon curd, slightly oxidized tart green apple peel, freshly baked sourdough bread and cold limestone slab.
Palate has day old bread, dried-shaved ginger, dried lemon pith, squeeze of lemon juice, touch of sweet caramel notes with great acidity, and forever finish. Opulent!
Wow, just wow, enthralled by the aromas coming out of the Gabriel Glas! The palate is just dancing like a Ginger Rogers, matching Fred Astaire doing everything ‘backwards and in high heels’. Hands down the finest version of this California sparkling wine ever passing my lips.
As this warms in the glass it's just even more amazing, moving from 9.4 to 9.5! — 6 years ago

A glass with sashimi! — 7 years ago
What a great benchmark for my first White Rioja. This special wine has notes of fleshy ripe cantaloupe, jasmine and anise. Balanced with the yeasty and oxidative almost sherry like quality. I could drink this on a cold winter evening or a bright summer days. It is balanced, elegant and the finish is long and complex. — 8 years ago
