This 2002 trockenbeeredauslese is 9%. I don’t know how to rate this wine. It slightly oxidized in ac good way. Sweet and syrupy. Kinda heavy. Very intense flavors. Reminded me of upstate NY ice wine. The ice wine is similarly intense but lighter and fruitier. — 8 years ago
Total wine $9–nice fullness, smooth and fruity. — 8 years ago
As a burg should be. Floral nose nevertheless balanced by hints of minerals and stones, lemon scents. Lean body with good structure. Medium finish with acid lingering. CVed. With st innocent. 9/2/16. Will try again later. Second tasting CV: 9/28/16. Nose a bit more oxidized (cv?) Palate still balanced with acids and minerals and fruit and with long complex finish. Still 9.0. Compared to 3 others. 10/3/16 opened. Still great, no sign of seepage despite a bit of liquid on the cap. Cork very tight and difficult to extract. So 2x CV was OK. Excellent wine. Yum. Finish shows off mineralality and complexity though it did fade pretty quickly. — 9 years ago

Délicieux, tres fort en bulles, s'évapore en bouche. — 7 years ago
I received this wine as a gift. Apparently their tasting room in Yountville is a partnership of some sort with Ralph Lauren Home... which seems like a brilliant concept to sell furniture, etc. Lime and peach lead the way, with some tropical undertones. Plenty of salty minerality that reminds me of Albariño. — 8 years ago
Good Depth. Dense masculine and concentrated. Medium plus body and Intensity. More how I would identify Gevrey Chambertin Grand Cru. Biggest wine in the bracket. Dry powdery Tannins. I thought this was the Dugat Py Mazis when tasted blind and most of us were gob smacked when it was revealed as a Charmes. James Halliday who was at the tasting, and who has tasted more Burgundy than the rest of the room put together, said put this one away “for your grandchildren”. No. 4 of 9 in bracket. — 8 years ago

[Tasted 8/9/16] IMHO this waaaaaaaaay overachieves @ COSTCO's $8.99. Initially purchased for immediate consumption [& one can certainly utilize it thus], I hope NOT to touch my remaining 2 bottles 'til at least 2018, as, IMHO, this currently stalwart offering is likely to get even better. [And to think COSTCO had no hype whatsoever on this.] :(

Great Barolo, but I was expecting a bit more from this one. The nose was just fragrant as usual, with candied cherry and rose water on the nose, and great rim variation, but sadly the pallet, although very flavorful, was a tad thin and left to soon. No gripping tannin like I'm used to, even from one that is 9 years old like this one, just felt more like Langhe Nebiolo.. bright side is the other labels of their Barolo have been better in these years, for the same price ranges. — 10 years ago

Best Pinot Noir I have had in years. Not very dry, full bodied for Pinot, and complex. And great price at 9 to $10. — 7 years ago

CV tasting Bordeaux 11/29/16. Nose of dark flowers and fruits and black berries and violets. Palate still shows tannins and with acidic balance and finish carries through. All the 2005s can wait a few more years. 90% Merlot rest Cab and Cab franc. Opened 9/24/18. Drinking really well. Almost two years since CV. No degradation. Raising score by 1. — 9 years ago
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. This wine was a bit mysterious in the glass. I ordered it at dinner by the glass and didn't know much about it until I got home and looked it up. I would have sworn this was a Syrah based blend with some dark black fruit with coffee and black olive notes and had a fairly polished tannin structure to go along with a medium full bodied wine that I found very enjoyable. Definitely would buy again. — 10 years ago
Giving this a 9. Good full-bodied chardonnay. Definitely worth buying again. — 11 years ago

Wow, this was a pleasant surprise. In perfect shape after 9 years and no oak in the wine. Plummy Malbec flavors with some nice herbs from the Cab. Plenty of acidity and life to this one. Check back in 5 years. — 6 years ago
