Prior notes apply; fruit is lightly fading, but this is still an elegant and sophisticated lady.
Nose has strawberry, roses, cut tangerine, juiced Clementine and dry earth.
Palate is strawberry-tangerine (light), wet minerals, so much finesse, yet light in the mouth, just stunning.
Our final bottle of the vintage. — 4 years ago
Bin end rosé day, the final bottles on another of our longer term aging experiments on value wines.
Nose has Creamsicle orange sherbet, dried peach, dried raspberry, dried papaya, orange slices, white flowers and crushed granite in moist soil.
Palate has tangerine gummy bears, honey, fresh Clementine, fresh apricot, white flowers with perfect acidity, long finish, mild sweetness. A great bottle with life in the bottle still remaining!

Nose has sappy, ripe but slightly tart dark cherry, and a beautiful almost Burgundian gravel thing. A wee bit of baking spice. Tannic and youthful in the mouth. This needs a couple of years at least. Very Cotes de Nuits in style. Very nice length and a savory style. Was OK with Thanksgiving turkey, but the turkey accentuated the tannin. This needs beef (prime rib!) to shine. — 6 years ago
Our favorite Virginia winery! — 7 years ago
You would never know this is a Grenache by looking at it. The color of the wine is super light. But the flavor comes alive on the nose and palate. — 4 years ago

A wonderful wine that we enjoyed with our Christmas dinner that included some beef tenderloin. Not sure how they do it but Carter keeps cranking out wonderful cabs. — 3 years ago
Time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Tasty and spicy. Delicious and extracted. A very typical Cabernet for the region, but oh so yummy.
Dry and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, graphite, dark coffee and peppercorn.
Very fruity on the palate and elegant. Well balanced with nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime (3 hours).
I've heard many people trash the 2017 vintage in California. So far I've not seen that to be true, and this is a great example of that.
This 4 year old is still very young, and would age nicely in the next 10 to 20 years.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with grilled Lamb chops.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
95 points.

2018; Under-ripe strawberry, clementine zest, red raspberry, delicious.
There's a reason we buy at least a couple cases of this every vintage, over delivering on value! — 3 years ago
