Outstanding! Never would have expected this as the pairing for the deconstructed French onion soup dish in the third course at Le Cinq — 8 years ago
fruity and smooth. really nice. — 8 years ago
Raspberry and leather notes (leather more in the later taste on the palate). Some honeysuckle on the nose with the berry notes. We cellared it for a year. — 9 years ago
Cinq cépages BIG brother- very nice — 9 years ago
Amazing. Golden color, stinky nose, delightful mouth feel, honey/syrup flavor that lasts forever. Paired with a remarkable grapefruit and ice cream dessert from Le Cinq that was custom made for this kind of wine. — 6 years ago
With a little air and unwinding, this blend really worked - and that is in large part due to the balanced profile of 2014. Jim dolphin really leveraged the acidity from cool and dry Aug/Sept evenings. Wish I had more ;) Profile is southern France - a touch of Rhône. — 7 years ago
This is the 'tindery' Cab franc / sauv blanc blend. Interesting enough, the sauv shows by the bucket load with a semi-slippery initial texture until the grainy greenish tannin from the Franc kicks in. The herbaceous notes from the sauv only add to how herbaceous Franc can be. It shows a lot of black cherry, sour raspberry and cut green herbs. If you look at it deeply enough it does show some guava and lychee notes from the sauv but they're probably not even worth mentioning. Co-ferment of the two I'm lead to believe, approach with an open mind, it can throw you about a bit. At $38 a bottle, bit of a gamble in my opinion, especially for something as experimental as such — 8 years ago

Hands down best pear cider out there. Works so well as a desert pairing. Poured at Le Cinq — 8 years ago
Yum! Very good. — 8 years ago
Big Napa Meritage. Lot of horsepower, not very much finesse. I don't drink a ton of Beringer but from memory would characterize this as a more highly concentrated, structured, rounder version of the Knight's Valley cab without the balance or precision of the Reserve. A solid buy at Costco's $33 price point but wouldn't buy at full retail, which I believe is double. At that price point, would go with the Cinq Cepages bottling from another Treasury Wine Estate producer on the west side of the ridge, Chateau St. Jean. — 9 years ago
Tasted this at the winery and had to buy a bottle. They told me it's the same as the Cinq Cepages. — 9 years ago

Not my kind of pinot, but I must admit I quite enjoyed this. Kinda like Denis Mortet Mes Cinq Terriors. Dark fruited and mineral inflected. The Rossignol Trapet 13' village stretches quite a bit of power, but is well-balanced by the saline backbone and just the right amount of acidity. Blackcurrant, dried florals, earthy, mocha, some spice. Quite supple, silky tannins. I would say - excellent value! — 6 years ago
