Good fruit but the herbs, earth, and flowers really sing. Very fresh and tasty fruit even 6 years on. What an awesome wine. If you find it for 16 bucks or less through the wind gap sell off, pick up a few bottles. — 6 years ago
This wine has so much going on. It’s like a life-form amalgam of animal/vegetable/mineral. Color is like plasma. Nose has raw grass-fed beef, liquid stones, and mentholic Ben-Gay thing, resinous herbs, lime, charcoal ash, and tangy boysenberry. Seriously. Lots of shit happening. It is mouthfilling and loaded with clingy, soft tannin, and has bloody, minerally, dark berry skin flavors for miles. Long finish and good acids. Only 13.9%, which, these days, passes for low alcohol. Terrific wine. — 7 years ago

Love love love this so vibrant but smells fruity, with Jessica Kolling — 7 years ago
Hitting its stride since LBT. Unwound and has fleshed out just a touch. Cracked pepper, hung meat, woodsmoke, bay leaf, wild berries, crushed cherry. Mineral laden throughout the palate. Fresh and just fun to drink with its very agreeable ABV. I love these wines upon release for how high-toned they are, but some recent bottles at the 5 year mark have really got me interested in how harmonious they get with a little bottle age. — 7 years ago
A few years in bottle has served this well. Much better than my first bottle tried on release. — 9 years ago
Classic Rhone Blend. Rich and ripe. Leather and spice. Grippy tannins. — 9 years ago
Pink orange color with appealing red fruit, and rose petal aromas. On the palate, it's medium bodied with a wonderful mouthwatering acidity and a nice grip courtesy of the Nebbiolo with tart strawberry and cherry flavors and a lingering finish. — 10 years ago
Classy smoky savory Syrah — 11 years ago
Closed down, bracing acidity and tough as nails straight out the bottle.
After being open for 24 hours this is a different and slightly more welcoming wine showing better true varietal character.
Despite the slender body (12.8% ABV) I wouldn’t be surprised if this really will be singing in 3+ years.
90+ pts in my book today (after aeration). — 6 years ago
I look forward to seeing where this goes in the next 5 years. Jammy and berries all over. — 6 years ago
Blackberry, cherry, raspberry preserves, smoke, vanilla tobacco and oak. Good structure and soft tannins. — 7 years ago

From CA vineyard royalty. Improves as it warms and with air time. This is a lesson in balance. Not a steely chard full of tropical flavors yet retains its minerality. Not an oak laced butter bomb but merely hints that it saw a minimal amount of oak in it's lifetime. Only 12.2% which is incredibly refreshing in a chard, especially one from a warmer climate. Tragic that 2013 was the last vintage before the chard vines were ripped out of the vineyard. — 9 years ago
Clear deep orange in the glass. Big bosomy nose of white flowers and candied orange peel. Full rich body with medium plus acidity. Lilies and orange peel lead on the palate. Medium finish with a hint of wet stone. Great on its own, but lives for food. — 9 years ago
