Surprisingly heavy but quite nice. — 5 years ago
Tasted blind. Amber tawny, not too thin. Northern Rhone nose, very exotic. More specifically you can guess Cote-Rotie on this wine just from the nose. Notes of black fruit, graphite, gravel and what my wife would say is dirty socks. Guessed 89 La Turque, which (looking back) is a complement to how well the 61 performed today. — 5 years ago
Outstanding Cote rôtie. What a finale. — 6 years ago
From the wine list at EMP bought by a new friend at the table next to us to go mano a mano against the 88 La Turque I shared. Slightly darker red and more pure in color. Amazing aroma that is more linear than the animalistic La La but in the same league. Hit its stride right out of the pop and pour gate. Lovely perfume with a more briary nose but speaks Cote Rotie from the get go. Perfectly integrated fruit and structure. Best Jamet I've had. Thanks to Danny for this treat. — 8 years ago
Nose: rich flavours: red pepper, violets. Great freshness. Red and black fruit (black and red berries), bit of garigue, juniper, time.
Palate: silky and smoothy, although still young style. Good lightness and acidity, red fruit – elegance and finesse of an higher altitude.

Biggest surprise of the tasting afternoon. — 10 years ago
Poured w/ homemade pulled pork pizza. Delish. A touch stinky. Juicy. Just damn fun. Held up to the jalapeño, and made the pork even more succulent. What else do ya want for 15 bones? — 12 years ago

Loving this Cote du Py gamay! Perfect way to start the evening in NYC — 11 years ago
I don’t drink Northern Rhône enough, but this terrific single vineyard Syrah crafted by the late, long-time Latour cellar master Denis Malbec is for sure nothing like new world Syrah.
The nose was filled with fresh dark cherry and raspberry, and turned to parades of cedar, fresh herbs, vanilla, dried mushroom, and light smoked hays. Slight hint of dried rose petals too. On the palate it had a richer feel than the nose would indicate. Dark spices and earthy minerals with sharp acidity. Polished tannins. — 5 years ago
Had this and the 2004 Cristal. Special treats. — 6 years ago

Favorite, along with the Texier in a strong flight of Cote Roties. Thank you @Vickie Beuerle. — 8 years ago
Beautiful aged Cote Rotie from a half bottle. Juicy dark clue fruit up front and center. On first pour had some acid and tannins which rounded out nicely after 30 min in the decanter. 1999 vintage. — 9 years ago
Pronounced nose of vanilla, cedar, blackberries, black cherries, black pepper. Some meaty notes. Med + body, intensity, tannin, med acid. Long finish. Complex, beautiful now and many years from now. — 10 years ago
1991: Trusting the makeshift neck tag. Reticent nose, yet full delivery on palate. Book smart Cote Rotie, with everything you'd expect present. The youngster of the night, yet in welcome company. No hurry to drink, will continue to develop. — 10 years ago

1990 Guigal Cote Rotie La Turque. Decanted 2 hours prior. Prob would have been better if we decanted 1 hr before. Nose was amazing right upon decanting, but flattened out after 2-2.5 hours. Amazing. Drink now. — 4 years ago
