Nice spice, great Syrah. — 8 months ago
From one of the absolute best sites in Chassagne, the ‘22 vintage and third vintage from Theo Dancer is expectedly superb, and the sunny and impeccably located La Romanée vineyard is profoundly textural, satiny and incisive with a particularly citrusy profile with freshly baked bread and chalky minerality. This is of course, still very young and is without a doubt built to age. — 10 months ago
Excellent nose, aromas of strawberry and cherry. Perfect balance of flavor and dryness. Excellent, especially for its price. Drinks like a $50+ sparkling. — a year ago
Full bodied and spicy. Great with grilled ribs — 8 years ago

Really good rose — 7 months ago
2022 vintage. Less tied down to the traditional Meursault stylings and just going for it. Light-medium body. Moments of beauty. Moments of leanness and linear qualities. Lemon curd and (subdued) tangerine two driving forces in the flavor profile. Plenty of acidity without tippling/tipping over the edge. 10.8.25. — 8 months ago

17. As it should be, but not more. Hope next bottle more exciting. — a year ago
Bright medium ruby with quite thin ruby , garnet rim . Quite closed with sweet cassis , touch of clove and ash , violet , dark cherry , wet stone . On the palate more of the cassis and spicy blackberry notes , dark cherry , but mineral and saline also , touch of slate , tobacco . Quite lean and refreshing, balanced alcohol . Quite high acidity and grippy tannin . Good mineral and cassis tinged finish . Elegant and refined . Needs a bit of time , will probably improve over the next 5-8 years and will last well a further 10 or so . — 2 years ago

Black fruit driven. Alcohol a little too high, but smooth tannins. — 10 years ago
A dense glass-staining purple, the '06 Charles Smith Syrah 'Royal City' is a monumental wine. Big, pungent aromas of game, truffles, black olives and dried fruits exploded from the glass. Complex, but still seamlessly balanced. The tastes stayed on the palate for a seemingly infinite length of time. Simply wonderful! — 12 years ago
Rich, showing lemon zest with a perfumed nose of saline, white flower, chalk & wet stone — 9 months ago
Excellent mature balanced Cab Franc without that peppery greenness coming on. Long finish. — 10 months ago
A blend of 4 grand cru and one blanc de blanc. As good as I have enjoyed from Piper H — a year ago
Aldehydic like Sherry — a year ago
An extraordinary bottle that is a near-perfect blanc de blancs. Medium gold in color, the wine has a beautiful mousse even at 25 years of age, with fine bubbles and a tantalizing aroma conveying powerful primary, secondary and tertiary notes. The nose shows fresh and preserved lemon, green and golden apple, acacia, hawthorn, hazelnut, wet stone and flint. On the palate, the wine is dry but has a wonderful medium-bodied richness. There is vibrant, high acidity that gives the wine great energy. Flavors include smoke, flint, wet stone, preserved lemon, green apple, golden apple, dried acacia, hazelnut, and a hint of roasted coffee along with a pleasant saline quality. The wine has a very long finish and is compelling to drink now though it can certainly age for another decade or more. Outstanding. — 6 years ago
