Vincent Dancer

La Romanée Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2022

From one of the absolute best sites in Chassagne, the ‘22 vintage and third vintage from Theo Dancer is expectedly superb, and the sunny and impeccably located La Romanée vineyard is profoundly textural, satiny and incisive with a particularly citrusy profile with freshly baked bread and chalky minerality. This is of course, still very young and is without a doubt built to age. — 4 months ago

Les Varennes du Grand Clos Chinon Cabernet Franc 2005

Holding up the best of a trio of sketchy old Loire reds. With air this reveals black currant, mesquite, tobacco, tomato leaf and slightest hint of raspberry. Still excellent but needs food — 9 months ago

Millésimé Brut Champagne Blend 2012

#AgedWineTuesday

Light yellow in color.

Strong nose of apples, yeast, spices, bread, minerals and sea salt.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity, and medium plus sized bubbles.

Dry on the palate with citrus, apples, pears, light earth, yeast, vegetables, spices and bitter herbs.

Nice finish with limes and almonds.

This 13 year old Vintage Champagne feels young and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly.

Rich and extracted with lots of bread notes. Elegant and robust.

Showing nice complexity, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Paired beautifully with fresh oysters.

A blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Disgorged in 2020.

12% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$120.

Granit 60 Vieilles Vignes Cornas Syrah 2021

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2021 Cornas Granit 60 is a terrific result from this challenging vintage. Slightly reductive at first, swishing the glass gradually unlocks a red-fruited profile. Leafy undertones, forest floor and cured meat elements add more contrast. Medium-bodied, concentrated and remarkably refreshing, the 2021 finishes on a savory note. Simply -- A very good wine. Deep in color and medium to full body. Oak, light fruit, and hints of smoke on the nose. Very balanced on the palate with subtle fruit and well measured oak and smoke. Nice finished. Overall a great value. — 10 years ago
