Nice drop needs more time. — 10 years ago
Bright, clean Crimson. Aromas of smoke, cigar box, and some blueberry. Still has acid and lovely soft red berry fruit flavour, and length and the softest of graphite tannins. Amazing for a 24 year old McLaren Vale Cabernet. A tribute to the wine making — 10 years ago
Firstly, we are drinking this wine @ Brett Jennings' amazing Chapel Hill eatery, Elaine's. Love this place, in a world class way. Now, on to the wine - dancing, dazzling half enchanted🍷😎 we are drinking the 04, so it has some time in the bottle (good time)! It's blueberry/raspberry touched and toned, by the barrel, calmly releasing its magic, as one goes., which is slow and elegant for a badass Bordeaux. It lacks the depth of what happened in France in 2000, but it certainly holds traits of the same. Get some, let it open and dive into the mix, then contribute to this conversation...✌🏻️💙🍷&👣 salute! Thx be to Brett, Damon& Happy Birthday to Lisa!!! Eat @ Elaine's, even if that means traveling from ... — 10 years ago
Favorite wine, got from chapel hill wine company — 11 years ago
A 96 holding up well! Lots of spice on the nose with a blueberry/blackberry first blush that I hoped would continue, but, I think, over time, the long finish has seen better days (missing the drift). Nonetheless less, this delicious wine is complimenting my calamari pomodoro at Il Palio, in Chapel Hill, NC, at the Sienna Hotel (now a Marriott Autograph property). Good wine, great vibe, cool people..:)! Special thanks to Rachel behind the bar! — 11 years ago

My new favorite Shiraz — 12 years ago
Smacks you in the face with deliciousness. Hearty savoury beautiful red. Rich black fruits, velvety tannins. Fruit heavy vs. Lesser tannins. Shit hot. — 9 years ago

Perfectly ready to drink and enjoy, and I am:)! Pairing with a Sicilian styled calamari @ Il Palio, in Chapel Hill, NC. Beautiful antique-esque nose with lots of red fruit on first blush properly cut with well-worn tannins, acidity, etc. lingering into a long unctuous finish. Good stuff! Go for it..:)! — 11 years ago
So beautiful. Delicious red for winter.

A delicious and affordable pomerol, very well balanced and drinkable on first pour. Its nose captures hints at it's early homes (farm & cask). Goes super well with mushrooms served up in a scallop broth @ Bin 54, in Chapel Hill, which is a favorite of mine and a rather perfect steak house not to be missed! Cheers — 12 years ago
Date night 9/11/11 yummy matching FILO spinach entree, duck and salad main and lemony desert — 13 years ago
— 9 years ago
Occhipinti Siccagno Nero d'Avola 2013
She came on dark turning rubyesque, a spin and first kiss, dripping red from my lip to my white linen cuff, not unlike the juicy explosion of a ripe blackberry, her color and allure dancing in the decanter, then leaning closer, more warmly spilling into my glass, she dips and turns, another spin, I breathe her in and her earthen essence laced lightly but luxuriously in red and black fruit lingers and lures me to drink, her acid does a balancing act with a purple plum preponderance her tannins squeeze holding the moment, we go deeper, darker until she dives disrobing as she rolls, slides, sideslips and seduces another dance, another turn, another twist - "and the band plays on..." For the love of the juice🍷🕶🌀
PS: kale salad @ Il Palio, in Chapel Hill is brilliant! Don't miss that place when there, or, make it a destination - digging their grilled octopus, too🍷🕶🌀 — 9 years ago
Mean acidity, juiced pear. — 10 years ago
Really like this gamay showing earth dirty front to back, dirt to silk maybe dragged leisurely through an earthy shroom-tinged path to it's place in the sun... ✌🏻️💙& salute!
PS Always check Brett Jennings' Elaine's if in Chapel Hill... — 10 years ago
