Caramel color, soft bubbles, lingering flavor — 9 years ago
Really wonderful rich Pinot fro Alsace ! It was definitely a'bit pricy where I had it but still lovely - around $70 at the restaurant. Rich Pinot Noir with lots of old world minerality plus rich perfectly ripe fruit. Drank it with braised rabbit - pork belly and bacon baked beans - could have drank it alone . Fantastic ! — 9 years ago

Really enjoyed this wine. Bitter dark chocolate, dark berries, a touch of heat, and more than enough tannins. 90/10 Grenache/Syrah — 9 years ago
Vibrant, raspberries and plum on the nose — 9 years ago
There's Sancerre then there is stuff like this. We import Vatan, so I can't say it's the best SB in the book, but it's certainly one of the best. Rare that I can drink SB. — 10 years ago

De Venoge has one of my favorite and solid line ups from their N.V. up through their Louis XV line. This particular chardonnay based Cordon Bleu is unique and beautiful. Brut but not on the more bone dry side. On the nose is the lovely smell of unpasteurized honey with beeswax, spread on a freshly baked English muffin, with some lemon undertone, mousse, and fig preserves. Definitely one that even people who say they don't prefer brut champagne do enjoy! If I could drink a true champagne day to day in this price range, this would be one of a select few I would choose! — 8 years ago
