Smoky dry Bordeaux with tart cherry base and a sweet finish. Excellent after given some time to breathe. — 5 years ago
Pretty darn good. I had this wine with Spanish food. Baked chicken y arroz con abicheulas. With a side of purple cabbage mixed with kale. — 6 years ago
Absolutely delicious! Dark complexity — 7 years ago
A soft Bordeaux with slight tannins. Very enjoyable on its own. — 8 years ago
On the dry side for a Calvados of this age, this is evocative of a hyperconcentrated Norman cider, with everything from baking spice and apple pie to the barnyard funk of an Etienne DuPont. Apple and sour horse pussy. 👀 A cerebral one. — 4 years ago
Get again. Seemed to good for a 2017. 74% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon. — 4 years ago

I was quite happy with this super duper Tuscan. Quite, as it aged with grace and sophistication.
Pergolaia is harvested by hand in September from their Podere Serra all’olio and Podere Nocolino vineyards. Big, bombastic and mature flavors of plum, cherry, leather and cedar really shine in this smooth blend of mostly Sangiovese (with a small percentage of Cab Franc, Cab Sauv and Merlot. Elegant and well balanced drinking in every way, I'd say.

2008 vintage. Bernaleau family (also owners of Haut-Médoc Château de Braude and Moulis Château Galland). Situated in Arsac between Château du Tertre and Château d'Arsac. Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (around 70%) with Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Great effort in a difficult vintage. Dark red with orangy rim. Cassis, flowers and cedar wood. Textbook elegant Margaux. Drinking beautifully without the harsh tannin that characterises many 2008s. Lovely and nice value. — 4 years ago
Opened at home with Jeff on a three day weekend. Not sure where it was purchased but Vivino said it’s ¥8000. It is very yummy. Refined, classic French wine. Very good, fruity nose, long finish. Blackberry, raspberry, berry flavors. Sold @ Rakuten ¥8600.
Missing ¥7560 — 4 years ago
Very simple, well balanced wine. It is fruity on the nose. Light to medium bodied with a nice finish. Low to medium tannins. — 5 years ago
My favourite Cotes De Bourg wine in a top vintage @ £60 😁 will keep improving 👍 If you’ve never tried this tiny region of Bordeaux you should check it out as there are some great value bottles here; this being one of the more expensive as made by the folks behind Tertre Roteboeuf 😎
