Note, in 2019 hail cut yields by 40%, Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe dark fruits and spices. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with leather, licorice and smoky herb notes. Fine tannins, hints of oak on medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and earthy mineral tones. Really delicious. Rubber, perfume, sweet spices, ripe intense, powdery tannin, jammy, earthy, fur, feather. Very ripe berries. — 5 years ago
Wonderfully fragrant with notes of cinnamon gum, amaretto, leather shop, white mushroom, spiced plum on the nose. Mellow notes of cherry pie, buttery crust, with hints of marzipan on the palate with smooth tobacco and cinnamon on a nice lingering finish. Drink by itself! :) — 5 years ago
Lemon, oak, wet stone. Love the mouthfeel--velvety chocolate milk texture. Paired with lobster in tarragon sauce, which were great together. White Burgundy always reminds me of melting snow in the spring. — 6 years ago
This seductively perfumed Beaujolais perfectly captures the charm of the vintage: balance, tension and seamless texture, with noteworthy purity and energy, make the Grand Cras Irresistible now, although a little patience will bring greater depth and complexity. Full bodied lush and soft white melon and hint of peaches!

Still quite young tasting especially relative to the 96 corton renardes from gaunoux. Would love to revisit in 5-10 years and see what this grows into. — 6 years ago
Never disappoints. Beautiful melange of red fruit, earth, spice and acidity. Full of power but not heavy. As good as some Grand cru’s . Coteaux Champenois is never inexpensive but this has become very pricey . Granted I have not had a large number of still champagne but I have enjoyed the journey. This one is widely considered the king of the hill. — 6 months ago

Very nice with cherries and a bunch of funky barnyard, but not distracting. Good fruit with blackberries and a bit of cranberry and herbs. Needs food imo. — 3 years ago
From a lieu dit surrounded by Gevrey. Definitely young but with a couple hour decant quite enjoyable and accessible. Tons of sweet cherry on the nose; aromatically really quite intense. Full on the palate, get more tannin than I was expecting, but very nicely balanced by a lot of acid. Enjoyed it with a roast chicken provencal but could have stood up to red meat too. Nice qpr at ~$30. Note this is not the “cuvee unique”, which apparently a 100% new oak bottling - this is the regular which is 85% old. — 5 years ago
Earthy and smooth.
A no headache red. Love it — 6 years ago
Tastes like berries but then develops into a firm tartness. Great smell, thin mouth feel, black cherry, beautiful purple ruby color — 7 years ago

A little dull, but it showed a little more with air so I wouldn’t write it off yet. — 5 months ago
