chapeau bas mr Mortet

Saint-Chinian AOC is located in the heart of Languedoc. Roquebrun is one of the two under-appellation communes. The Cave cooperative accounts for almost 90% of the village production. In my experience Languedoc typically resembles Southern Rhône, but this also leans towards Provençal in style. Lavender ganache, fresh cracked pepper, anise, worn leather, rose petal, and high toned blackberry and black cherry. — 7 years ago

I’ll go back to drinking more CA Chardonnay when pigs fly like the top right photo.
This was under $40 and still better than any CA Chardonnay I’ve truly enjoyed. I may have given out slightly higher scores or similar scores in previous CA Chardonnay notes but, it was more for their technical achievement for the varietal within region(s).
The nose reveals; green & golden apple, lemon flesh, pineapple juice, lime zest to candy, kiwi, underripe green melon, cream, light, fresh herbs, candle wax, honeysuckle, white spice, refined chalkiness, gritty volcanic minerals, sea fossils, saline, yellow lilies, fruit blossoms, spring flowers & mix greens.
The body is; full, oily with nice viscosity. Green & golden apple, lemon flesh, pineapple juice, lime zest to candy, kiwi, underripe green melon, cream, vanillin, soft caramel notes, light, fresh herbs, candle wax, honeysuckle, white spice with pronounced palate heat, refined chalkiness, gritty volcanic & limestone minerals, sea fossils, saline, yellow lilies, white florals, fruit blossoms, spring flowers & mix greens. The acidity is beautifully round and phat. The finish is long, nicely knitted, polished, perfectly polished, elegant ending in persistent white spice.
Nice pairing for our white cheeses.

Really good! An interesting blend of Rhône valley and northern Italy. Blend of bright cherry and some darker red fruits. Lots of herbs as well. I’m confused, but happy. — 7 years ago

Very nice cold Climate Syrah. Haisma is making this now for many years. Fleshy reminded me of bubblegum candy balls. Orange 🍊 rind. I really did not could come up with specific fruit notes. However if you like northern climate Syrah this @ 13.5% is excellent. It sold out within 90 minutes at the tasting. Needs time. — 5 years ago
Paired well with a robust French chicken, vegetable, risotto dish. Would buy again. Purchased at Wholefoods $19. — 6 years ago

A good Émilion, however took a while to open up. Had better but also had worse. Menu said would be a 2012 but was presented with a 2014! — 7 years ago
