1990: This bottle given to me by Gaston Huet when I visited him in 1996, so no importation or pregnancy warning stickers to obscure the contents. Amber color revealing the level of botrytis in this vintage, since the wine was absolutely fresh. Creme bruleé nose. Silky mouthfeel, with explosions of fruit, ranging from baked apples, hints of vanilla, quince jelly and raisins. Long, long pleasing finish which is a fitting tribute to one of the true heroes of winemaking. Sublime. — 10 years ago

Took a couple days for this wine to open up and to really start strutting its stuff. Vibrant, primary, dark cherry fruit tones meet pine forest, spice, and licorice nuances. With the extended aeration, an intriguing mineral note also developed. Svelte (12.8%), yet vivacious and intimating appealing future complexities. Would be fun try again in 8+ years. — 11 years ago
In an attempt to "hang" with my wine distributor friend tonight, I ventured out of my comfort zone with this syrah grenache blend and was pleasantly surprised. RP-kissed this one for a reason - big and bold - aromatic - a very good value drinkable. Paired nicely with my salmon and spinach salad. By day, I seek value in the bond market to pass along to my customers, so this got me thinking: what is/are the best value wine(s) you're drinking right now?? #sharethelove — 9 years ago

Not a lot of fruit left, but a little cigar box, a little funk, and smooth as silk. — 11 years ago
