Tropical pineapple on the palate and nose. Color is richly yellow after 9 years. — 7 years ago
Intense, white pepper, creamed corn, wet stones, pear and green apple. From 70 year old vines. Superb, long finish. — 8 years ago
Perfect Mosel Kabbinet. Fruit, minerality, freshness. So much pleasure from this bottle! Generous and giving! — 9 years ago
Like Riesling and Gruner had a baby - opulent quince with a peppery finish. — 9 years ago

These are Ott Gruners are exotically rich and textured, structured with actual tannins and whopping acidity, and possess incredible flavors ranging from tropical fruits to citrus, along with intense minority. Really unique among Gruners, these are the most fascinating white wines I've had in some time. This '11 is more structured, while the 12 is richer and even more textured. — 11 years ago
Charming Riesling very interesting — 11 years ago
2011. So pure, peach nectar and rocks. — 12 years ago
Dude. We we’re eating Indian when we opened this bottle & it was the most perfect thing with the cuisine on the table. It’s mineral, it’s acid driven, it’s flavorful, there’s the right amount of RS with a refreshing zippiness that just kept me coming back for more. — 6 years ago
Tart citrus and lifted minerality. Subdued white pepper. Horseradish and cilantro. Medium minus body. Medium plus acidity. Not much of phenolic bitterness. — 7 years ago
Quite a step up in complexity & depth compared to the Kabi. More exotic flavours like pineapple, mango and lychee mixed with a lot of ripe peach. But you recognize the undertones of minerality immediately.
On the palate this wine has so much tension, extract & what we call in German "Spiel". Amazing balance between sweetness & acidity. Long, long finish. Astonishing life ahead. — 9 years ago
2011, St. Urbans-Hof, Ockfener Bockstein Kabinett Riesling. Little petrol on the nose. Pear, a little citrus and some residual sugar. A little young and will improve with time. — 11 years ago
Lemon cest, dried apricots, pencil shaves, medium body, quite long saline finish... — 6 years ago
Fresh, balanced, pretty. — 7 years ago
Lemon dry fresh clean fantastic — 7 years ago
Rich, unctuous and concentrated dry Riesling, but - kudos to the 2008 acidity - by no means flabby. Great tension, slatey minerals and deep orange fruit notes (tangerine, peach and guave). A very delicate hint of savoury crustaceans really adds to the complexity! Beautiful wine. — 8 years ago
A bit more closed then the B but how strange is it? The wines are now for four weeks in the bottle — 9 years ago
Well-fruited nose with grapefruit first on the palate with some slate. Still sharp-ish. Needs time. €17 at cellar door. Tasted in May in Ayl. — 9 years ago
Pretty good. Nothing earth shattering. — 10 years ago
