Smooth, nice aroma like the cab version. Citrus flavored. — 6 years ago
Creamy smooth with incredible nice finish. One of the best I have ever had. For the price however I would take Michters 20 — 7 years ago
Just got this. — 7 years ago
Colgin Pappy day 2 with Julian Van Winkle and @Paul Roberts — 8 years ago
A delicious wine that should show even more in the next few years. With notes of kirsch and black currant, this soft, but complex wine is delicious. It has slight herbaceous undertones that round out the fruit forwardness. Probably one of the better Chat. Du Papes from this vintage. — 9 years ago
Yet another overachieving ‘22 Provence rosé; very satisfying after recent Provence vintages produced a cloying totty fruity pop. White flowers with a pinch of pepper greets you on the first swill. There’s some nice pineapple juice in the middle palate that takes you unexpectedly to a dry finish. This is good stuff and certainly worth a try. — 10 months ago
Plenty of body, delicious. — 3 years ago
A nice Beaujolais from a vintage that I don’t usually love compared to 2014/2016. Definitely better with an hour or so in a decanter to let the tannins integrate a bit more. Dark purple in the glass - darker than expected. Nice cherry aromas. Still could resolve a bit more on the finish but with a slight chill is nice. — 4 years ago
Wonderful nose, superb balance, refined and soft finish. Real nice. — 7 years ago
The best creamy beer I've ever had. — 7 years ago
Drinking one down for the Cubs. — 8 years ago
Vanilla is the first thing that hits you. The caramel adds a certain sweetness to the taste. I would literally drink this all the time if I could get it. Dark, tasty, perfection. — 8 years ago
This is amazing. Dense flavors of coffee and chocolate, very velvety Amy Currens said shoo fly pie in a glass. So aromatic and malty. Super long finish — 10 years ago
Bell pepper and spinach (with earth sticking to it). Ample and generous mouth, medium to full-bodied, minerality and black and blue berries on the background. — 9 months ago
Gift from Matt. I really like this. Each time I have it. — a year ago
Super duper dark and legs for days. Opaque, eggplant-y red and smells like vibrant dark fruit. Currant, cherry, vanilla, spice and oak. Starts mellow and fruit heavy and then ends in a spicy, tannic feel that's not quite rounded but very, very good. — 3 years ago
One of the smoothest, most flavorful whiskies I have tried. — 4 years ago
Really enjoyed this as an evening sipper by itself. Subtle notes of the bourbon barrel, fairly well balanced. Would get again, especially for price. — 6 years ago
Full mouthfeel, can taste the oak from the barrels it is aged in. Initially too many tannins and overwhelming, but once opens up it is a nice wine. — 7 years ago
Great value burg with age — 7 years ago
Sour cherry. Fruit is fading. — 8 years ago
Soy, white pepper, aircraft carrier of big plum jam and cranberry, a touch of heat on the finish, gentle allusions to leather, long way to go but good juice — 10 years ago

One of the “Bourguignon” producers in the line-up, this examples from Jules Desjourneys was a clear outlier in the group. This was a 2010 and came across younger than anything else we enjoyed over the course of the evening. Popped and poured; no formal notes. The 2010 Fleurie “Chapelle des Bois” is locked up in oak but the fruit is there; dark brambles forever with some licorice as well. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a very long time for the oak to give up its grip on this one. Luckily, I think the quality of the fruit will last long enough to make it more enjoyable…eventually. Best after 2025 through 2040; which seems somewhat ridiculous to write. — 9 months ago
