Dark fruits were still rich and vibrant, with hints of licorice, exotic spices, grilled herbs, earth and forrest floor. Tobacco and leather and little smoke. Great w meaty pasta dish. — 8 years ago
Big but such a nice balance of fruit, acid and astringency. This is a slow but smooth sipper for those contemplative nights. — 9 years ago
Fresh cherry, red currant on the nose. Raspberry, ripe plum and strawberry, jam on the palate.
Wonderful structure! — 9 years ago
Opens up lovely in the glass light tannins despite the vintage aged wonderfully in the bottle 2009 vintage — 9 years ago
Simply perfect. Defies all attempts to break it down into component parts. Wow. Bravo, @Cathy Corison ! — 9 years ago
Savory, berry spice. Good acid and tannin. — 11 years ago
Wow In a flight of chateau montelena and caymus 85s this drop kicked them out of the room. Hints of Brett but adds to the complexity of black olive, camphor, Dried fruits and herbs. Patrick Campbell made so many great wines and does not get enough credit this wine sings, bravo. — 8 years ago
This wine made me smile with every single sip, unbelievably good. The bottle pours out a beet and blackberry color blood. It's nose is rich with dried black fruits, crushed plums, dark cherries, yeast and some floral aromatics. It's dominent in black cherry, blackberry and plum flavors. Notes of cracked black pepper and blueberries accompany its dominating flavors. It sits with a medium plus body. It's tannins are a perfect velvety medium grain, it's acidity is moderate, all of which settle with a long finish. I was completely suprised at how much I liked this as I'd usually pick Argentina as king for this grape, but bravo..I've found my new favorite Malbec. — 8 years ago

I really liked this wine, no strong at all — 12 years ago
2000 vintage. Drinking beautifully right now, but I would drink up soon. The tannins and acidity are fading, but the deep dark fruits are still in abundance. A touch of tobacco, minerality, smoke and dark fruits on the nose, with a similar palate. The finish goes on seemingly forever. Bravo. — 8 years ago
Nutty at the end of taste, red cherry, medium plus tannin. Dark garnet color. Lingering in the mouth. — 8 years ago
Violaceous rubi color, wood berry aromas with a touch of black chocolat. — 8 years ago
Punches way above its price point. Great food wine. Nobody should drink it so it stays cheap. — 8 years ago
It has finally come around. Beautifully integrated tannins and fruit. Plums and cherries. A Classic French Bordeaux by Christian Moueix bravo. This should be the wine standard. Drink now or in the next 5 years. — 9 years ago
