Tasted blind. Tawny color, translucent with amber rims. Notes of black cherry, cedar, some spice and a little barnyard floor. Sweet fruit in the mouth, with tannins fully resolved. Where to begin. We ordered a bottle of 1982 Heitz Bella Oaks, which was corked. It was also their only bottle. We went back to the well and decided on this '83 Dunn HM, and we're not disappointed.
