This was intended to be NYE prosec. Here we are on 1/25 and it doesn’t disappoint. — 6 years ago
On the nose; more round ruby, ripe, perfumed, dark cassis, sweet candied black plum, blackberries, black raspberries, raspberries, candied violets, sweet dark rich soils and perfumed purple florals.
On the palate, the body is full. The palate is richer and the tannins are more velvety but, are still sticky and a bit chewy. The fruits are perfumed, ruby, ripe; black raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, creamy raspberries and cherries & strawberries as it opens. Dark rich soils, used coffee grounds, dark chocolate, some mocha & caramel, gravely dry soils, cigar, soft leather, light pepper, good, round acidity and a nice balanced finish.

Robyn loves it - not too sweet but very refreshing Venezia drop. Will buy again. — 10 years ago
Seven-year-old volcanic Aglianico? Don't mind if I do. Delicious, structured, just ripe enough. Nicely done, @Cecilia Piccin! — 10 years ago

I hate all champagnes and while this is a Vino Spumante Rose it is essentially my champagne and will now be my preferred bubbly. It is slightly sweet but not dry like a Brut. I made tangerine Mimosas and they tasted terrific! Highly recommend it for other champagne haters like me! — 8 years ago
Bright, minerals, seems like the kind of wine you'd open AFTER your tinder date leaves. — 9 years ago

— 12 years ago
Perfect 😍 — 6 years ago
Amazing! Cocoa nose, velvety tanins, long afterfinish. — 6 years ago
Luminous medium-dark red. The captivating nose combines sour red cherry, violet, coconut, tobacco, minerals and a hint of white pepper. Densely packed and youthful but very fresh and lively; this already boasts a silky texture and considerable early appeal owing to its noteworthy sweetness of fruit. Subtle notes of red berries, herbs, graphite and flowers carry through into the rising, very long, vibrant finish. A knockout Brunello that further confirms winemaker Cecilia Leoneschi’s talent at making exceptionally good, very classic Brunellos. I can think of very few wines in all of Italy that have improved more than Castiglion del Bosco’s over the last decade. Well done. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, April 2018) — 7 years ago
Pretty fucking delightful. Gutsy. Well-built. I'm for it. — 7 years ago
05 vintage at In Situ (yes I brought in the wine for early Cecilia Chiang dinner) and it was full mousse at first pouring. Just gushed and relaxed into precise focused wine with intensity and subtleness. All the peaches and zest but drank mostly just like Cristal should always. It's why they get away with that packaging! — 9 years ago
