Amazing. It's fruity, but I've felt only a sweet, ripe plum. But the best is the rest: spicy aromas with leather and smoke like from smokehouse. I simply love it! — 7 years ago
Very good! It’s what a good Bordeaux should be. — 7 years ago
Balanced and tasty. Drinking really well. — 8 years ago
Drank 2/19/18. Paired with roasted chicken.
The nose of sweet stewed plums and red berries is quite expressive. Still present, but mild, well integrated tannins lend structure to cassis and earth flavors. Medium finish. This could go a few more years, but is in a sweet spot now. I dont think it will improve further, so drink now. Fully mature.

In mag, at a perfect spot. Velvety tannins, herbaceous, prunes. — 9 months ago
Such an interesting wine with aged beauty and tingling profile. Rich tropical fruits balanced by acidity. — a year ago
One of my favorite Rose’s under $15 — 7 years ago
Drank 12/5/18. Paired with lamb burgers.
This was a great value, originally priced around $17, currently on special for December with an additional 20% off at total wine for around 11$.
Nose of plumbs, cherries, leather, and black pepper.
Flavors of red and black cherry, soil, and tar backed by medium tannins. Dry, medium to long finish. An impressive wine for a lesser chateau in a mediocre year.

Superb for the price! Deep black currant and smooth. — 8 months ago
2016 vintage. I prefer the 2016 to the 2015, more fruit to cover the chalkiness. Probably the most impressive Castillon I've ever tasted. Bright, perfectly ripe red fruit and fine grained tannin, with a complexity rarely seen in Castillon ( Château Clarisse is another one to watch). Abv. 14,5 %. — a year ago
A nice compliment to our pork dish! This bottle went quickly! — 6 years ago
Well still alive and kicking with secondary forest and leaves coming into what is left of black fruit notes. It was under ten bucks back then. Value! — 7 years ago
Big, dark fruit come through along with a generous but not overbearing amount of oak. A solid combination of acidity and grippy tannins round it out. The finish is long and enjoyable. It’s well put-together and would be fun to revisit a few years down the road. — 8 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This estate owes its name to Connetable Talbot, the English general & governor of the province of Guyenne who was defeated at the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453. Deep Ruby color, with aromas of black fruits, herb, tobacco and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plums and black currants with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with fruit, earthy spice and cedar character. Nice! — 7 months ago
