This is a Nebbiolo D'Alba - excellent testure, a classic. I had it with ravioli al plin and ragout and pickled onions from Ivrea. Highly recommended. — 8 years ago
Day 1; way too VA to enjoy. Day 2; tight and youthful yet precise red fruit flavors with floral and licorice additions. High acidity and pronounced tannins on the finish. It will, for sure, get better in due time, but I sincerely doubt greatness will ever be associated with this vintage. — 8 years ago
Nice, juicy, , blackcherry, i felt light bodied...nice sunday sipper with roast chicken — 8 years ago
Good wine from Dad. I like Barolos and want to learn more about them and find affordable bottles. — 9 years ago
Pleasing aromas. Very good structure and concentration, with juicy fruit and acids, but a bit missing on mid-palate and finish. I think it will show more tomorrow night. — 9 years ago
Now THAT is some tasty wine! Creamy notes, coupled with flavors of cantaloupe and pineapple make this wine wonderful. Also, the mouthfeel... It sticks to your mouth. Good God, I need more!!! — 10 years ago
Based on this producer's story, I expected to hate this, but the methodology lives below the result. Also check out Chave photobombing this shit — 11 years ago
Funky!!!!! And I love it. No sulfur and obviously some wild yeast just doing its thing. So beautiful and fun. — 12 years ago
I am not typically a fan of Italian wine but this is lovely. Smooth like a cab. Definitely would buy again! — 8 years ago
After a 2 hr decant and a few swirls in the glass this amazing wine really came through. Elegant and grace. I feel blessed to be able to experience it. Amazing now, but in 20 yrs this will be drop dead gorgeous. Buy and hold (if you have the patience). — 8 years ago
Ok, so like Michael said, there was this funky cheese whiff when we first opened it, but after some air (and a bottle of Ziereisen Lugle pinot blanc and conversation about pussy hat parades), this wine settled in as the perfect companion to our smitten kitchen one pan chicken tikka with potatoes and cauliflower. Nutty, mellow, nutmeg, and smooth tannins in a white whine ("orange wine" to be exact). Yum. Sad I only have the one more bottle... — 8 years ago
Serious wine but a fair amount of fruit. Dried cherries, eucalyptus, and earth. Firm tannic structure. I like it! — 9 years ago
This is just what I look for in a Barbara D'Alba... — 9 years ago
I know what the secret is! — 10 years ago
Needs 20 mins to breathe. This is one of the wines I picked the grapes for in 2008. Full bodied & explosive. — 11 years ago

Lots of tannins and acid. An elegant but severe Barbaresco. 2005 is drinking well but I look forward to tasting it in ten years from now. — 12 years ago
Patience will be rewarded I imagine — 8 years ago
Oh my... What a wonderful surprise! This one's got quite the character. Great just on it's own, paired with a warm evening outdoors... When I first read chamomile, I feared boring, but this is anything but boring! Soft Chamomile, paired with peach and a sightly spicy dry, but sassy finish, that reminds of cinnamon. Yum! We shall meet again... — 8 years ago
TBH I hadn't even bothered to pair it. It is a very beautifully deep red wine, full of flavors. Pleasure to drrink — 9 years ago
Dried red fruit & savory herbs & dried earth & tons of crushed rock. I find it to be very fresh & pretty! — 9 years ago
I could drink this on a weeknight on the regular — 10 years ago
I have 2006 and 2010 and love them both! Very bubbly and pricing is from 14 and up — 10 years ago
One day when I am able, I hopefully will drink this often. — 11 years ago

I had this with a pizza in the company of the Cals...the wine completed the trinity required for a superb evening.... it has a superb bouquet coupled with mild but yet flavours which encourage a pause while consuming Bacchus this is a good one for our followers — 7 years ago
