Bright, effervescent red. Starts off kind of tasting like wet socks and then smooths and rounds out to dried apricot, green apple, and cinnamon, with a tart finish. Definitely something to worth chillingl! — 8 months ago
Astringent and out of balance, perhaps an off bottle. Bramble rhubarb and hay with green leaf notes... not typical for Nebbiolo. This wine doesn’t fall into the almost-Barbaresco Langhe wines, nor does it hit the fruit-forward Beaujolais-style Langhe wines of other producers (Elio Altare, etc). The price is right at Costco... I’ll wait for the upcoming 2019. — 5 years ago

Fruity, not high in tannins, full mouth, cherry and plum — 8 years ago
Really interesting white blend made by devout Cistercian sisters at Monastero Trappiste. Its a deep golden color, showing the 1 week of skin contact. Almost an orange wine. Herby and floral, smells like an aged autumn garden. Chamomile, almonds, and citrus notes. Unsurprisingly savory but still refreshing. (Btw- Love the label.) — 10 months ago
Bold nose of dark red berry, velvet, latex and a strangely seafood-y funk, like oysters maybe, on a medium bodied, DARK red wine, with purple hues present towards the edges. The palate is much more straightforward and juicy, and slightly spicy, with notes like Hawaiian Punch, dark overripe berry, and a finish that tastes a bit like artificial blueberry flavor, with some slight tannins peppered throughout. — 2 years ago
Celebration wine (paid off the Tundra).... This is layered and evolving, with a nose of tobacco smoke, tar, black plum, cherry kirsch, dried violet and rose, bay leaf, sage, anise, and blackcherry. Round, sweeter dark berry and cherry fruit on the palate. Structure builds in mouthcoating tannin balanced by rich acidity. Spice box, leather and tar on the mid-palate. Acidity is still fresh, almost tart, and lifts a finish that is balanced and lingers for 60+ seconds. Underripe cherry and gravel. A touch of warmth speaks to the vintage and comune. This over-delivers at the price point with outstanding complexity, depth and length. Hold for 3-5 more years, then enjoy over an evening. — 6 years ago
