Really good sangiovese — 6 years ago
Served from a Melchior opened two days prior. Red fruit and spice, long finish, seems much older than a 2 year old wine — 6 years ago
dark & red fruit, underbrush, liquorice, tobacco, coffee, cocoa, gr almond. BOMBA!!! — 7 years ago
Morellino is the local name for the Sangiovese varietal. Deep garnet red with a pink rim. Cherry, raspberries, medium spice, good fruit. Medium body. Paired with pasta in light flavorful tomato sauce. Tasted at Poggio Amorelli Winery in Chianti — 9 years ago
Lovely wine once allowed to breathe. Really good the next day — 3 years ago

Excellent! — 6 years ago
A Sangiovese clone that I really like. Made by Caparzo. Lighter and more fruit forward than a chianti Classico. Black cherry and blackberry with a smooth finish. Enjoyable bottle of wine. — 7 years ago
Excellent QPR. Nose of sweet tobacco, leather, ripe black cherry. Bold acidity, medium tannin, dark cherry on the palate. Enjoyable traditionally crafted Tuscan wine. — 8 years ago
Had this at Max's wine dive with clients. Super good! — 9 years ago
Was pretty unimpressed upon opening, but really came to life in an unexpected way the next day. Fresh leather, spiced cherry, star anise, sweet dirt, cedarwood, truffle, black licorice candy. Rich and long on the palate, with a bit of jamminess- from the Syrah undoubtedly. — 9 years ago
Has notes of black tea — 3 years ago

Very smooth, delightful Tuscan bargain. The unpretentious excellence. — 9 years ago
Excellent well made Sangiovese. Dark fruit and a hint of leather on the nose. Pleasant fruit with a hint of aged fruit on the palate. Nice mouth drying high tannins and typical high acidity. A hint of delicious sour sweetness that reminds me of Chateau Musar. Blend: 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot. 13% abv — 9 years ago
Exceptionally rich yet nervy, Lohsa 2013 Morellino di Scansano is certainly cut along the local Sangiovese lines of this DOCG but this is cut of a finer woolen and fragrant cloth true to the Poliziano house whose handsome strength comes through in savory spiced cherries and al dente tannins. A wine to serve with wild boar or crispy duck. — 9 years ago

Pink peppercorn, unexpectedly heavy for rose. Leaving expectations? Lovely with shrimp and duck salad. I’m happy I stocked up — 3 years ago
